I’m going to do a vlog special on the winch because I think it’s the first one possibly in the UK?

Brightwells over in Hereford had 5 of these plus some LR 90's up for auction over the last week or so, awesome trucks, would love one myself but wife won't let me have one.

That’s really kind offer, thanks. I’ve gone for a pro fit for the subframe and box. All the other stuff is going to be DIY. Well DBSE (done by someone else).

Thanks for the support, appreciated.

I do, but the PH rules say I’m not allowed to promote so not sure what I can do there.
If you search under ProjectOverland.info I have YouTube, Facebook, Instagram and website.

I know right? I can’t even drive the f**king thing yet biggrin
Then again, I looked at the thread where that lad bought a 308gtb for £30k and that made me look positively sensible biggrin

But to everyone who is saying they are in, and they want to do the same, thanks. I sometimes feel a bit overwhelmed by it all, but its knowing other people want to do it and can’t that makes me say to myself ‘f**k it - you can do this’.

Also, thanks to Army drivers giving me tips. They are all useful. There is an FB group called MAN HX Group that I started because when I got mine, no one had any info anywhere and there are a couple of instructors on there who are super helpful. We really couldn’t do it without you guys. Much appreciated. Ps is waving a really bad thing to do? biggrin

Ta. For others looking "Project Overland" on YT brought it up for me as the first result. Subscribed.

In.
I self built a camper out of a Transit a few years ago - we had so much fun in it. This is another level!

Very impressive and interesting. Is your 50k budget including the 12.5k to buy the base vehicle? Chap I work with recently spent 35k ish on a second hand run of the mill camper van based on a fiat. I think you're getting significantly more value for your money!

Cool, first hit on YouTube you say ?? Cool :Sm thumb up:

Yeah, the £50k includes the truck. BUT, I’m not saying it will end up there!

Selected the fridge and it’s £1,400 biggrin Mind you, it’s a thing of beauty.
Vitrifrigo

But yeah, there are areas where you can save, and areas where you need to spend. I’m hoping to save a bit on the interior by being shrewd.

Harv, that's where mine came from. They have been selling them through the year. Started about January. If anyone is interested in buying one, you can find the online bidding here: Under Govt & Military Disposals

The rules on YT videos have been relaxed recently. A link to your YouTube channel about the build of this would be welcome.

We don't have professional drivers in the armed forces only aimers.

Will it need an SVA test once its done?

Doesn’t need an SVA, just registered as PHGV and MOTD.
