Ever tempted to get a Trabant, just for a laugh?
Actually, yes. I lived in Germany in the early 90s and wanted to get one to stick in a barn for a couple of decades. Only issue is it would have cost me more to ship it back to the US than it was worth.

Thanks for posting. Impressive collection. What were your thoughts on the XJR15? Did you own it long?
Owned the XJR-15 for about 3 years. It's a really unique car and unlike anything else I have ever driven in both a good and not so good way. It's not a road car at all even though it's road legal. Its an early 90s Le Mans race car with a license plate and it drives like a race car that's been jacked up just enough so it doesn't bottom out on every imperfection in the road. Beautifully built car. The carbon fiber tub is a work of art.
Thanks for the reply SSO. I did look around one at the nec motor show a few years ago. Must admit never been much of a XJ220 fan but the XJR15 would be in my dream garage!

Hi SSO, any interest in other types of rare cars, say less super ? I'm thinking 22B, RS500, R34 etc., say even the Yaris GR at present ?

Nothing of the above as I don't think I could get them through the Use Case Test.

Lancia Delta Integrale Evo is one that has been tempting. Also have had a weird itch for a Maserati 3200GT in the past.

That I can completely understand. Always liked the XJR-15 but never been interested in the XJ220.

There were 2 Koenigseggs in yesterday's Arizona Auctions. Neither one sold.

Not really. I've never been a Lambo person.

Yes, sold everything except the Ferrari F40 as that was US import eligible.

This was taken on the F40s last European Road Trip before it got shipped to the US.

What made the other cars ineligible to take to the US when you moved?

Any car under 25 years old needs to meet US DOT & EPA regulations which are different from EU/UK. Cost to convert, if it can even be done, can run $50k and up. Net net, it's not worth doing.

That looks hilariously out of context. Well done.

The McLaren 675LT Spider just came back from its annual service. Completely routine and no issues found.

It’s nice to see a garage with an appreciation of classic cars as well.

There can't be many supercar owners who venture out in that weather. Hat's off to your, sir.
