Don;t take it as mocking (well, maybe a little bit), its just that funny headlights and throttle bodies on a 1.1 seem a little bit, well, pointless to most. Don't let the comments spoil your enjoyment if thats what you want to do but underneath all the criticism there lies a serious point.

What's the point?

It just seems like a lot of outlay for little return. As it stands it will probably give you a lot of fun. I've spent a few years now with a very underpowered front wheel drive econo-box as a daily drive and a TVR in the garage and at times, noise aside, the piddly engined shopping car is just as much fun as the shouty one. Yes its a bit asthmatic and it struggles to outdrag a horse but never underestimate the fun that can be had from skinny tyres, slightly soft suspension and full commitment.

Save the cash and put it towards the sportscar fund...

At the end of the day chap, it's your money, your car, your time. If you enjoy it, keep it up. People here just don't see the point when you could buy a quicker car with more potential by saving the money you spent. But it's a case of each to their own.

Ok this has got to be a wind up, you would rather have a Saxo than a girlfriend??

Someone pass this kid a razor blade, there is no hope.

There are benefits in having actual human beings as girlfriends as opposed to auto-mobiles though...

I thought we'd established it was probably our money as he's unemployed? hehe

I think we have every right to have some input in how he spends our hard-earned. wink

People are mocking you because you want to spend tons on a car with a little 1.1 engine - the mods you want to do wont make it more powerful and they are just a waste of money.

It isn't you car. Everybody has to start somewhere.

But it's a bit like you having sex with your Granny... you might enjoy it but everyone else is wondering why you would do that.

Come on now, you have been on here for 32 months so must have read a few threads and got "the feel" of the place.
Then you posted a thread saying you were going to put Angel eyes, LED lights etc... on a Saxo 1.1 and you actually expected it to go well??
You really need to get used to the Pistonheads sense of humour.
