Is it any wonder people go quiet and leave?
Pete gets asked to come back here and update only to be subjected to accusations and abuse over his decisions to put his own family first. I expect everyone who's having a go is housing a ukranian refugee while living like they're on I'm a celebrity on ethically grown rice and beans while donating their entire wage packet to feed the starving in the third world yeah?

Thanks Andburg, I don’t mind a debate, hell i encourage with my girls. Won’t I don’t like is people making stupid remarks about things they don’t understand. Yes I own a utility company but I don’t spam people with emails, it’s actually one thing where we fall behind with the competition, because I don’t like it. The only time we send any emails out is when it’s a reminder about the customers contract. Something that if we didn’t do we would be slagged off for, so I can’t win either way.
What I will say though to the person who said I’m a vulture company. Do me a favour, find me the email I sent you, post it on here and we’ll see if it’s a marketing email or it’s actually about your contract that needs renewing. If it does need renewing and you haven’t done anything because you thought it was a spam email then unfortunately you may have rolled over onto deemed prices, which basically means you’ll be paying about 30% more than your contract prices. So that’s why you’d have received an email from us, but I doubt that very much.

You have sent me an email saying my account is flagged as being in the renewal window.

You're not the only company to have contacted me, but I can not see any reason why your company should have my details.

I don't know what the regs are on selling my data to companies like yours or where you get it from but it seems you are in Wave 2 and not officially appointed like the original company that contacted me - Bionic.

I went direct and got a cheaper price than the one offered by Bionic.

This thread has become a real disappointment with some of the comments. It's supposed to be about the cars and it's turned way too personal.

I don't know Pete and have no skin in the praise game but good luck with the move Pete and safe travels - thanks for sharing your cars on here. Hopefully we'll see you on here again.

And if you're ever in Perth, Australia would be happy to grab a beer.

Good luck Pedro and thanks for sharing. If I was in your position I’d do the same or my own version of it. As you have seen first hand life can be short and abruptly curtailed. Live long and prosper as someone with pointy ears once said.

Jeez, this thread went downhill quicker than Franz Klammer in his prime!

I thought we were here to celebrate the cars, not make disparaging remarks about a fellow PHers life choices or business practises?

Best of luck with the move.

Start a new thread when you start the new collection, so we can all still live vicariously through you.

Hopefully they’ll be a way to keep the jealous dheads out by then.

Ha. Fair enough, I retract the statement that it is a scam. I didn't ask for it though, have never contacted the company to my knowledge, and have no idea how they got my details.

Anyway, good luck in Dubai, you make your own choices I'm not bitter about anyone's personal choices I just find it disappointing when people leave the country that made their success.

Good luck to you in Dubai. It’s not a country I’ll visit but each of us have to make our own decisions. I also was fed up with being in the UK so left for pastures new a while ago.

One thing - your website doesn’t work great on mobile devices.

Ah ok, so 2 things, first one being that you’ve not shown prove of any email we have sent you, so I can only take your word on that one. However I did say that if you received an email from us then it would have been because you were in the renewal window and it wasn’t a marketing spam email.
The reason why I would have your details is because with a lot of the energy companies out there, they use us as a TPI to deal with their customers from an outbound perspective. So that’s why, and yes you probably did get a better deal than Bionic as they charge a hefty uplift in commissions.
Does that answer everything for you? Now can we please get back to talking about cars and not some fairytale you have made up. Cheers.

Wow... what to say.

Don't normally comment, but feel like I should.

Having followed this thread I think since it started, I have found Pete's outlook a breath of fresh air, and really inspiring.

Not sure I could keep so calm...

And as to Dubai, is it perfect no, but having lived here for 19 years, I agree with everything Pete has said about it. Are people mistreated - of course they are sadly, but equally, many, many people are also achieving things that they never could in their home country, but the Daily Fail wouldn't report that...

Is it fake - if you want it to be, but again, I have got to experience things I would never have done in the UK. And there is a thriving car scene, with all makes and interests covered.

Bit hot and humid at the moment, but that soon passes, and the autumn, winter and spring are lovely.

Look forward to seeing your collection build over here, lots to options to consider!

I hope you enjoy your time here as much as we have.

I can only wish you the best of luck Pete in the next, exciting chapter of your life.

As per others, I'm looking forward to watching your car collection rebuild.

As someone who has always enjoyed the motoring content, I look forward to seeing what you get next Pete and will continue to follow on Insta.

Good luck in any future ventures, at the end of the day all we can do is what we feel is best for us and those we care about.

It’s a pity Pete hasn’t created his own site similar to PH.

I still have this in my possession, yes it’s with DK but I am debating whether I just ship it over and have it in my living room as artwork.

I don’t think I have posted on this thread, but I have often read it in absolute awe of jot on the cars but the Man.

Pete if you are half as decent as it appears from your deluge of good deeds, then thank you.

You don’t me or anyone fighting morons for you, but Feck it I’m doing it anyway.

If you want to criticise him for his current decisions then read through the whole thread.

Read about his charity work.

Read about his kindness to strangers on the internet who have rides in dream cars thanks to him.

Have a look at yourself, if you still think he’s a prick and you’re so much better then thank you for being such a great person yourself, but maybe take a mark or two off for being nasty to a stranger for no real reason.

Other than that get the fk out, yes we have free speech and yes you can say what you want but don’t be the prick who makes this all stop. No one will thank you for it.

Lets get back to being nice, lets get back to being supportive, let’s get back to what PH used to be.
