Ace. I adore them, they look amazing. The rear arches almost look comical because they’re s big on a dinky car. I love the seats in yours.

There’s something about he last of the E series cars that I really like but I can’t quite put my finger on it. Even my little 130 puts a smile on my face.
A little reminder of it's big, fat arse being delivered laugh

With MrTouring now the proud owner of Megane 'Markle', and the weather finally dry, it was time for another run to the coast...

Few cheeky pics at the park & ride as we set off...

No doubt, Markle is every bit as quick as the 1M on the straights, and much more tenacious in the corners. What a thing!

Quick stop off to admire two pairs of broad hips...

..and this time we went a little bit further than usual, all the way to Southsea. Ideal for photos, some good, some... much less than good laugh

A great morning, but the extra distance took time and the rain started on the way home. The 1M isn't a car to hustle in the wet but... at least I wasn't on Tropheo Rs eh? laugh

Two great looking cars and looks like a fun day out .

The megane must be lots of fun but I would bet a bit more hard work than the M1 in the road .

Will this be going on track with the mini ?

Cheers - I’ve not actually managed to get a passenger ride yet - so I’ll let MrTouring update his thread with driving impressions! But yeah, it’s got all the choice mods so it’s certainly a notch or two more aggressive on the road than the 1M.

Will he put it on the track with the MINI? He’s already nagging me to get a day booked! The MINI is in need of an MOT and I’ve just not had the chance - so I’ll get that done and we’ll book something in (assuming we can find anything!).

Yes! You have the Cup-S yes? What spec is it?

Also - just reread your piece on it and I don’t have this page on my Rs monitor! Maybe because mines remapped - weird! Which pages on the monitor is it between?

I do indeed. Pretty much every factory option on it including Akrapovic and Ohlins. I recently took the Ohlins off to get them rebuilt but in all honesty the Cup suspension is much more comfortable on the road, so I don't think I'll be putting the Ohlins back on unless I start doing a lot of track days. Will cover that a bit more in my next fleet update.

Otherwise a basic remap from Engine Dynamics which it had when I bought it, and I've since added an ITG induction kit and Forge recirc valve, K-Tec braided brake lines and DS UNO pads for track, although track days are on hold for me until next year. Will be planning a trip to Spa in the spring though...

How about you? Have you got a Readers' Car thread for the Meg so that we don't hijack Tom's? hehe And yes the throttle mapping isn't the easiest to find, but glad you found it!

Come have a read of my spec and early thoughts here:

https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...

Would you consider selling the Ohlins?

Also having been out this morning, the pedal map from Linear to Sport/Extreme is superb and immediately corrects the one slight disappointment I had around the throttle response - could not be more chuffed!

Honestly, 36 pages of updates and it all descends into a chat about sporty French hatchbacks!

You two can head off to the other thread - you’ll be safe to talk about how wind deflectors improve your vapeing, how the girls at MacDonald’s react to your pop & bang maps, and why only one of your headlights works at a time wink

Time for a little update!

Cracking day today - Gemclean, the guys who did the PPF and paintwork on my 1M had their end-of-season 'Tea Pots and Pit Stops' cars and coffee event.

With a brand-new iPhone Pro burning a hole in my pocket, it was the perfect opportunity to go and see some shiny metal, try taking some shots, and enjoy the last of the summer sunshine. Sadly, I think the petrol panic-buying nonsense seriously restricted attendance but there were some lovely toys to look at... ...and MrTouring even brought the breadvan wink

Start with a bit of two-wheeled hotness..

VW R36 - not something you see every day, especially one this special (although I'd leave the wind deflectors)...

I've probably got this wrong but... 200SX?

Splurt! McLaren 570S..

BMW M4CS interior (a real high-point of BMW interiors I think)..

The obligatory GR Yaris. Poor picture, but awesome number plate wink

Not quite as good as this plate though...

First set of 23" wheels I've seen on a car. Lamborghini Urus wheels make HUGE brakes look titchy...

Bit of breadvan goodness wink

I think I was probably more envious of this than anything else laugh

Yet more Lambo-goodness...

There was also a great turn-out from the local Porsche GB group, but didn't really get any good shots. Who needs them anyway, they all look the same wink

Idiotically though, I was so focussed on talking, gawping and photographing that I totally forgot to take any pictures of my own car... which was a perfect excuse to pop out for an evening drive and a few more photos...

I may have stayed out a little later than planned! laugh Absolutely glorious evening - warm and dry enough to be enjoyable, but cool enough that I don't have any bugs to clean off the car!

Looks like a good day out.

Judging by the weather today, that was the last of driving and it needing to clean cars!

Cheers - Sunday was absolutely perfect driving weather but all that was washed away with the gales and downpours yesterday! With values of 1Ms continuing to climb I'm seriously thinking I might want to find some warm storage for it through the worst of the winter. Goes against all my car principles though... laugh

I guess it’s easy to say shock be used etc when it’s not your car that is appreciating!

My carbon black car looks ste when it’s dirty, so it’s going to be a challenge to reign in my cleaning OCD now the weather has turned and the farmers will be turning my local roads into a mud bath.
