Love the seats. Mine also has red leather, though I've just replaced the front seats with those from an F82 M4. If you're interested you just have to repin the wires into the E92 connector.
I'll also recommend running MHD. Been running their stage 2+ software on my car for 2 years without a hiccup.

Thanks.

The M4 seats would be ace. A guy on YT fitted a pair to his M3.

I missed out on some E92 M3 seats in bamboo.

Great choice of interior. Love the red, it's going to go so well with the grey! Red would have been my choice colour of interior if the the exterior colour had been anything but blue biglaugh

Looking forward to seeing this come together. Love an imola red interior.

What’s the latest on the Cam Ledges? Sorry to hear you’ve been plagued with issues!

Thanks.

I quite like Estoril blue with red leather for the super man look! Don’t think it would work with a dark blue like yours though.

Thanks, I like the red too and think it’ll go nicely with the dark grey paint.

The car is going to a local indy tomorrow to have the cam ledges replaced. I declined BMW’s offer for nearly £4k. The intake side is 100% getting replaced because that is where the error codes are coming from and we’ll take a view on the exhaust side. If there’s no wear, I’ll just get the seals swapped. If there is any wear at all, that side will get done too.

Do they know how long the work will take? Hopefully you have a car in complete health by the end of the week!

I should have it back Friday night.

They’re supposed to be servicing the gearbox too. 14 and a half hours labour in total with most of that being for the cam ledges.

Bit more mucking about with the replacement interior tonight, which was a mixed bag.

Started my marking out the additional holes for my extra speakers. This was easier than expected .

I didn’t realise until afterwards, that on the back of the moulding you can see where the additional speakers would be mounted.

My measurements were bang on, because the new holes are slap bang in the middle!

The not so good was one of the connections to the ambient lighting in the rear card had been removed less than sympathetically by the breakers and when I was trying to u do he butchered connection, I made it worse and snapped the optical conductor. Tits.

I’ve removed the trim that holds this by drilling out the plastic welds and will order replacements tomorrow which I’m hoping won’t be too expensive.

Will finish getting it all cleaned tomorrow ready for fitting over the weekend.

Love the red leather, will look fantastic against the grey and it's always nice to have seats out of the car for a proper scrub. I''m after a red sports interior for my 6, but the only one on ebay is a ridiculous price sadly.

Thanks. Red leather does seem to command quite a premium when sold on its own. Lots of it for my car were £600 on eBay so I was pretty pleased with £300 for this set.

Dropped my car off this morning for the cam ledge repair and gearbox service.

The intake side is getting replaced regardless because that’s the side that appears to be causing issues. The exhaust side is going to be checked; if there’s no groove then the updated Teflon seals will be fitted. Any groove and it’ll get replaced.

Should be ready for tomorrow afternoon.

The broken bits of trim from the replacement interior are cheap enough (£35) but have to be ordered from Germany. That’s fine….the black trim is on eBay for £76! I thunk I’m happy to wait a week!

Wishing you all the best with it Sam. I hope it all gets sorted for you, because these last few weeks have really been a big test/stress for you with it. I bet you're looking forward to getting the interior in now as well. cool

Cheers all.

Thee garage has pulled the car into to workshop and read the codes….it’s now saying there is an error on the exhaust side, which it’s never said to date! I’ve been back through all of my code read history and it’s always been the intake side. The N54 strikes again! laugh

Cracking thread and all too familiar. I just moved my N54 335i to my new house after 2 years off the road. Fresh battery and it started up straight away. I was absolutely bricking it starting it up.

It's got a new upgraded intercooler on it and brand new BC coilovers. In my time owning it I've spent far too much on it and a lot of the typical issues have reared their head. Planning on tidying up some bits and bobs and selling it. Glad to see them getting love here, fantastic cars.

Mines Monaco blue and a red interior has been temping (I've got naff grey/beige) but pure luck on condition from breakers. Watching with interest!

Someone's not re-connected two sensors the wrong way round have they?

Not me! This is the first time the exhaust side has been grumpy. Even when I popped in new solenoids, the intake side was chucking up error codes.

So, the saga of my N54 continues!

The indy plugged it into their code reader this morning first thing and the two codes they had were 003100 (boost shut down) and 2A87 which is an error on the exhaust side.

Rather than dive in and tear the top of the engine done, they’ve sapped over the solenoids and cam sensors to see if the code jumps again. Apparently it’s passed all of the oil pressure and flow tests with flying colours and all VANOS adaptations have been reset. If it goes into limp mode again they’ll have it straight back in. I’m technically not out of the woods yet, but they’re pragmatic approach is appreciated.

The gearbox has serviced with a ZF kit and adaptations reset etc.

I’m picking it up this afternoon so will see how I go with it.
