As a few others have said its just about pricing it with the market, looking at similar vehicles on AT, Pistonheads, ebay etc.... As a case of adding value there are many ways. But since starting working in the motortrade a couple of months ago. The biggest way of adding value to these types of car is to have it in a nice showroom. There are many factors though, as in presenting the car in perfect condition to give that wow factor. I have sold 95% of my cars to the first that have viewed. It is all about making the car look stunning in the flesh as well as the photos. I like to think as soon as the person pulls up and sees the car they are sold on it.
I am undecided on taking a gamble (profit wise) in the next week whether to have the car upgraded to the 2012 software and stage 1 remap. The cost of this is in the region of £1000 now I have picked up a Milltek Y pipe cheap! I think this could actually add extra value to the car. Basically it will mean I can sell it as a 2009 car that has performance in excess of a 2012 GTR with the added benefit of Lichfield warranty! Or do I leave it as is a one owner totally original car.... Its a toughy! When investing money into cars you need to be seeing a minimum 20% return really to have any major benefit over leaving it in the bank.

Another small quick question.
Where do you stand if someone buys your car from you and within a small amount of time or mileage the car develops a major fault?
Are you liable for any payment for the damage or the fault?
Or does saying sold as seen on the advert absolve you of any liablility?
Sorry for taking the thread off track again.

maybe his parents helped him fund it?
Don't think so...he earned all the money himself whilst studying in uni. Just wondering how he could get insurance for so cheap I'm with Admiral, 31, clean license, tons of NCB but best price was around £1200...What a horrible day and am sure there will be more of these posts today but Hinckley and a few other areas of leicestershire were struck with a freak hail storm this afternoon, Hail the size of tennis balls. The GTR is covered in hundreds of dents my other cars have smashed windscreens and hundreds of dents also. Parents conservatory roof caved through. I have had a chat with a few bodyshops and most are saying cars will be written off a neighbour took his 61 plate seat leon to the bodyshop and they have written it off. The car was parked at home whilst I was at work (the showroom) dealing with a glass roof being smashed to pieces. Cars at work are all covered in glass.
From speaking to others there has never been a storm like this in the UK. Pictures to follow and updates on what the insurance do as I havent made a claim before got to take it to get an estimate but nissan have said if it needs all the panels replacing it would write it off

Damage to my car is hard to make out in photos ut here is a pic, its peppered all over as if its been parked in the middle of a driving range. pic is of ice cube collected 30 mins after storm then put in freezer. they were almost double this size. car will probably be written off from what ive been told

Buy it back from the insurance company and track it?
My thoughts exactly!Buy it back if written off, sell off the interior and other unnecessary components to help fund a 'cage and seats etc then sticker it up to help conceal most of the dents and then use yourself or sell on as a track-slag.
I imagine most of the damaged panels are on the horizontal i.e. bonnet, roof, boot lid, top of wings etc? You'll be able to pick up a second hand bonnet and not lid cheaply enough,.. but even better if you can find second hand carbon fibre items from someone wishing to return to standard, then get the roof re-skinned to suit. This could possibly just leave the wings requiring a (somewhat thick) skim of filer over the worst affected areas.
Basically I'm saying "chin up man!", make the best of a bad situation!
