MK2 Escort LS1 in orange!
Discussion
Been a while since I have posted anything on here - but I have been busy -honest!
MX5 now fixed and MOTed, this included chopping out a badly repaired chassis rail and the fitment of a new engine! The old engine had an oil leak from the back of the engine and also was a nightmare to pass the emissions last year so suspected worn injectors.

Removed the plated mechanical diff to fit the Weir kit from the USA. But tried a torsen diff I had in stock just to see how it performed - as expected worked fine until it lifted a wheel.
Wanted to change the ratio while I was on rebuilding the mech diff, so had hoped that a crown wheel and pinion from a Lexus 430 would fit (supplied by Nick of plus4 engineering) but no such luck!
Anyway diff back in and it feels great.
That's 4 diff changes to date!
I have also fitted an oil cooler, which has incurred yet more chopping of the front end. Not sure if I like the result!

Car out of storage and I am finding it a bit frightening on open roads - must be my age or something!
Now thinking of going back to more conventional 4 pot power! So if anyone wants a full turn key conversion give me a shout and if a deal can be done I am more than will to help with your project.
I will update once the new power plant is going in!

Finally I have got round to fitting power steering. I have gone the usual route of Corsa electric column. Unfortunately the motor fouled the pedal box. This is due to the fact that the pedal box had to be fitted further box than standard and I always knew it would be an issue. At the time of the original build I had toyed with the idea of a floor mounted unit but it looked too tight. But now it appears I have little choice, so with a bit of gentle persuasion on the floor areas and a change from the Girling type master cylinder for the clutch that came with the floor mounted pedal box to the original Monaro (2inches shorter) I have it fitted.
