I didn't realise this was the same chap who owned the green gta and used to post on alfaowners. Small world!
What happened to the green bogie?
I used to have a gtv 3.2. Used to be on there all the time.
Yep, that was me. Sold it in 2012, and it was written off a short while later. Owned quite a few things since then. A rusty 405, XM, Xsara VTS, XC70, C5 estate, Xantia Activia X2, V70R, C4 VTS, Panda 100HP and my current XC70. Don't think I've missed anything. What happened to the green bogie?

Have a read:I was down at Autolusso a few weeks ago....they do fantastic better than new gtas' now for big money....
XM - https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...
Panda - https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...
Quick summary:
XM was cool but old and not very exciting. Coming from a GTA to an Auto XM wasn't going to go very well.
Panda was fun, but ride and size got tiring fairly quickly.

For me, I'm definitely not enjoying laughing at him. If anything I'm utterly bewildered at his logic but I'm not laughing at someone losing money they can't afford to lose.
I take offence to this comment. You don't know me and you don't know my financial situation. Yes a loss of over a grand in a short period is going to hurt, it would hurt anyone, but it's not going to put me on the streets. Is it because I don't have a flashy car on the drive you think I can't afford anything better? Have you thought that maybe I just like playing with older cars, or that I just don't like having too much money tied up in them? To recap, I took a punt on a car from a dealer in Scotland. I trusted the guy that the car was in a better state than it was. It arrived and it was ropey. I fixed the glaring issues so I could use it. Once I used it a bit I decided that I didn't actually like the car. I am now advertising the car/selling to WBAC. If I had liked the car then there wouldn't be such a loss, because I'd be using it and fixing bits as I went.
Kitchski is right. I'll do it again (although probably not from Scotland). I might lose a grand or so on this one but I've had wins elsewhere, and do you know what? my grand loss is probably less than most people spend on renting their car for 6 months.

Travelling costs. f
k off!
I had that when selling a car and also when selling a high chair. People automatically taking money off as they have to travel.![hehe](/inc/images/hehe.gif)

kers.
There were loads. I advertised it at £2000 and had people offering £1300 without even asking questions. I figured £200 off what I was asking was worth it for not having to deal with these people, plus no comeback either. ![](/inc/images/censored.gif)

Lost £1200 quid tho, and still no goodwill from the dealer towards the rad which is probably my biggest annoyance with the whole thing. A bit of goodwill would have made me feel much better about everything.

Reading that story above makes me feel better, thanks! Speaking of rust, I never did look under it but did find some more whilst changing the mirror. I'm not sure what you do to them up there, but I really didn't expect it to be that bad.

WBAC's bid probably involved a short drive,10mins in a portacabin, a weak coffee, a signature and money in the bank a short time later... £1500 from matey would have probably involved lots of faffing, unknowns at the door, dodgy test drives, haggling, the risk of iffy pound notes then several weeks of waiting for the inevitable "M8, the cars has broke down, I want my money back" etc etc that we've come to expect. Generalising there obviously but for the want of a couple of hundred quid, I'd rather drop kick a car to WBAC or similar and save a lot of stress and hassle.
This.Plus, WBAC weren't suggesting he should subsidise their f
