Unfortunately I don't have any ramps and we aren't allowed to put cars over the pit at work.

Round the back of the engine is a load of rust and our fitter reckons someone has ran it on neat water for some time and that's what has caused the problem.

I'm going to get the garage I use to see if they can trace where the leak is coming from, latest thinking is it could be a hose.

I'm getting my friendly garage to check the coolant leak out as I can't trace for certain where it's coming from. The brakes are being done today, turns out the o/s/r caliper was sticking and that's why it wore the pads down really quickly.

New caliper was £89 so not excessive I suppose.

Since one of my workmates helped me change the bonnet lock the car has thought the bonnet is open when it isn't. Does anyone have any ideas how to sort this?

The coolant leak turned out to be a pipe, as I needed the car back tonight they have done a temporary repair which so far has held, but it will be going back in when I can spare the car for a couple of days to be sorted out properly.

I had a ride out to Hadrians Wall on Sunday and did over 350 miles in a day, the most I have done in the Focus. Seems to be more refined than the Fiesta was as I wasn't as drained as I would have been in the Fiesta. It clicked over 180k on the drive up, wasn't able to get a photo though.

Been no updates lately as there has been nothing to report, though it clicked over 181000 miles on the way into work this morning.

The car resting in Much Wenlock on Wednesday. It did nearly 500 miles in 2 days without a problem. I wanted to get a picture of the car next to the bridge at Ironbridge but couldn't find anywhere suitable to park.

New turbo hose ordered yesterday and should be here over the weekend. It shouldn't take long to fit.

Turbo hose changed today, the old one was in a worse state than I thought.

It seems to pick up a lot better now the hose has been replaced and nowhere near as much smoke either, though I suspect it will take a few days to clear itself out.

Might be worth throwing some injector cleaner in the tank next time you fill it up, they do seem to benefit from a good clean now and again!!
Thanks I'll get some later

EML extinguished today by one of my workmates, as the turbo hose is done it should stay off now. Also approaching 9000 miles in my ownership, not bad in 7 months.

It's also averaging about 3-4mpg higher since the turbo hose was changed according to the cars computer.
