[quote=Fleckers]I have just read this

WOW

£11k for the kit and paint is about half what I was guessing

It’s a real pity you have to keep the front number plate as imho it spoils the front end look

Are you keeping the rear lights or can you get dark lights fitted ?

[/quote

Hey Buddy, the front plate is either stay stock or go with a Vinyl sticker style but i'm not really a fan of that, I have ordered some new plates and will just stick them on with 3M tape so I can lose the fixings

as for the rear lights I've had them lightly tinted but wouldn't want them any darker.

Great project, looks exactly how it should have left the factory in the first place!

Can you dye some of the interior stitching, would look great with some green accents...
I have thought about that too tbh, but all the interior is complete black so wouldn't take a dye other than the AMG logo's in the car mats. I have thought about having the steering wheel refurbed with the centre band done in green... but not sure on that yet.

Thanks again guys, I'm really happy with the work the guys have done it wasn't an easy job by any means, the guys at the Golding Barn know there stuff, we could have gone too far with the mods and i think the car would have lost its edge in a way.
Check out the pearl reflecting in the sun

They can make a kit to fit an estate as its probably almost the same as the saloon kit. To supply and fit the kit and paint the sills, rear quarters and rear bumper is circa £5k. Then you'll need wheels too as you won't be able to space them out that much haha

I still have to get the 507 edition decals back on but that's not going to happen for weeks yet as my vehicle signages Co are in lock down

And that means no coatings or ppf can be applied too.
So in the mean time its getting cleaned.

Tomorrows job is wheels off and arches detail and fitting some discreet stone deflectors as an interim untill the ppf gets fitted

Yeah man, saw that, and that was the entry C63, so think that's about 40bhp down on the 507.

Did you get it back before the lockdown?
Yes he did, he's been very busy with the charger upgrade that has added massive amount of power to the car, and then to top it off he's also had his bonnet pressed with OEM vents fitted..
It looks and sounds amazing

Today was Wheel Arch day.....
not too many pics of the cleaning as they didn't come out very well due to the sunlight... However, after a good clean down and some protection I fitted some stone deflector guards, I know these aren't to everyone's taste but TBH, they are quite subtle and blend into the car quite well.

Great looking car & the colour, I’ve had a quick trawl in the thread but can’t find it. Is it Focus RS Ultimate Green? Very similar if not. I had one & the pop in the sun is amazing.
Not quite buddy the ford green is quite a bit lighter, i wanted legacy edition viper green, but Mercedes wouldn't release the code as they only made 10 of them, so we had to make it, its Mercedes Viper green commercial base coat, with Candy lime green pearl and then clear coat

Thanks again for all the comments guys.

The car has now been fully cleaned and detailed except for the paint coating, PPF, 507 side decals due to the detailer doing the work having to close.

So for now I've locked the car away in the garage to prevent any birds crapping over the fresh paint, at least this way the paint has plenty of time to fully vapour, Fingers crossed the car will still get done at the end of April depending on the back log the detailer has.

Stay safe guys.

Lee

Hey Guys Hope you are all enjoying the good weather....

Another update on the car.. I have finally had the Custom Cut 507 decals fitted.

These are an exact replica of the original decal, although on mine they are 30mm longer to allow for the extra arch profile. we used a set of OEM decals as the template and cut them In OEM Grade Mactac Pro 900. They are the exact same colour as OEM but in a satin finish. This is because the textured finish is not available from Mactac as its only available from Mercedes.

Next week the car goes on for some Custom Cut PPF to fitted to the lower parts of the car and the rear quarters to help prevent chipping and then a Modesta Ceramic Coating... Finally its all coming together now.

I wouldn't have bothered with the decals personally. Doesn't need them.
Thanks for the feedback fella

Although it didn't need them, And I almost didn't , Its still a 507 edition and deserves to have those fitted back on.. it took a great amount of work to get them done, I didn't want the project to be left unfinished so to speak.., This whole project has been very hard at times, and some choices were really hard to make. But now they are on, I feel that its those little things that make this unique without being too far away from OEM if that makes sense.

I've also ordered an OEM black/chrome bonnet badge to replace the Blue/chrome one.. again its these little things that will make or brake it

Great project and despite the wide arches and lairy colour could still be a special edition from AMG themselves. Excellent quality workmanship and I like the decals - in keeping with the OEM+ look.

For the work and finish that the car has I think you got excellent value for money from the garage that completed the work.
Thanks Dan.
I still have a little way to go.. and its these really fine details that are taking the longest to sort.
I still have the wheel centre caps to get, but falling short as I don't want a sticker on the existing cap as it will look crap, and I cant find a 3 pointed star that will fit …… yet. the search continues

Its a different car!!! the whole chassis feels completely different now.

The front wheels are now 8.5J from 8J and the rears are 11J from 9, had a full geometry and alignment set up from the stock - 2.5 degree camber to 1.5 to save the inside tyre wear, but this turns in soo fast now and the grip is immense, I've not manged to get it spinning up, still needs a little correction on the steering to balance the car out of fast corners but its doesn't spin anymore

Hey Guys, Hope you are all keeping well, Apologies for not being on the forum much lately as my Dad has been seriously Ill and having to care for him on a daily basis atm.
A very much needed pick me up has come about by way of the progress of My car.

My car finally went in 8 days ago for some paint correction and coatings to Detail Driven In Goudhurst Kent.

I'm collecting it from the detailers today, its now had its Expel Ultimate Plus PPF and full Modesta Ceramic coating to the bodywork and trims, The wheels have been recoated with kamikaze Stance Rim as they had some fine scratches on the faces so I machine polished them to remove it all. Here's some small sneaky pics of the work pre collection today....To say I'm a little excited is an understatement!!
