IIRC if your personal contribution exceeds the BIK value then you don't pay much if any BIK either at that rate smile

(That might change because I think the BIK rate per tax year was increasing by 1% a year from 2020?)

It might be worth asking BMW what they can do in the interim if there is a gap between he arrival of the X5 and the departure of your current lease?

What's a good spec for a young family on the 45e? I think that it's a go-er for a fellow director, but BMW are clever in bundling up things like rear side airbags in with packages that would otherwise be dismissed.
The basic package is pretty good, I think the tech pack is worth going for as that gives a few more bells and whistles. (and there rear seat tablet prep)

Is this down to demand, or a backlog caused by the problems last year I wonder?

Just taken delivery of my 45e M Sport Pro/Tech Pack. Volvo XC90 T8 gone back same day, 22000 miles @ 22.8 mpg. First impressions are how much smaller the BMW is, my big dog will know about it. Just about to go out for a drive, the Volvo was a good steer for a big heavy SUV when in sport mode but was very front wheel drive, the torque steer could be dangerous when over taking on lanes...I'm sure the Beemer will be much better in this regard. It took 7 months to arrive from order btw.
I did a back to back test of the boot size of the XC90 vs the X5 and there wasn't much in it....the X5 was slightly wider, the XC90 facrionally longer. (This is with the seats down)

I was able to get the dogs in no trouble at all. (GSD, St Bernard and a Great Dane.... never tried all three at once though! hehe)

They must be a handful! I've got a Cane Corso, she will definitely fit but headroom is less, also, I was surprised there is no cargo net/dog net...I did order the car during lockdown and didn't have opportunity to fully explore one.
As per my very first post, there is an extra you can get "luggage compartment seperating net" which connects in one of two places depending on if the seats are down or not. They work very well, so worth getting one. smile

Well the dealership have got in touch today to say that the vehicle that has been assigned to me has been pulled forward and it expected to land in the UK in the second half of July.

They are now in conversation with the Sale Planning team to see if they can do anything to get an earlier slot!

The squeaky wheel gets the oil!
At least you have something to aim for now! biggrin

When you get the opportunity, give it the full beans from about 50mph onwards - it's astonishing, gathers momentum like an avalanche biggrin
Very useful trait on the motorway for dismissing a few junctions and couple of rep mobiles when exiting roundwork 50 zones hehe

You get the same features on the display key as well

Functions vary from country to country based on local legislation...

Can confirm boot is massive, only real difference is no 7 seat option on the 45e.

Worth remembering that the charging rate is something you can vary, it's accessed via the charging menu.

A lot of them default to 6A, so if charging sems to be taking forever - check this.

I had the same issues after BMW had messed with it, I'd politely but firmly insist they sort that out ASAP.

What charging rate are you set at? Think I used to run mine at 10 or 12A.

I don't think it's just BWM, I've had similar experiences with a number of brands in the last couple of years.

If it were me I would try talking to another BMW dealer; find one that will look after you. (It shouldn't be this hard, but after trying to secure an LC I've come to the conclusion that it's worth finding a decent sales guy over just using the nearest one)
