Alpina B6S cabriolet
Discussion
I’ve had a busy month so far. A reassuringly large box arrived with new Alpina shocks, springs and bushes to be fitted soon as after nearly 120k miles the original items are probably not quite box fresh anymore.
I also attended Bimmerfest in Holland this weekend and was fortunate enough to be asked to show the car in the main exhibition which was a great treat for the car.
The car performed faultlessly for the whole trip and even returned an amazing 26mpg over the 700 miles travelled.

Your carcoon made me crack up in laughter, with a car like that, I’d want to put it in my living room
I think SWMBO would have something to say about the living room idea, I would love it there of course mind! The Carcoon is the next best thing for the old girl though.I finally got my suspension refresh sorted and had all the tracking and alignment sorted at the same time,
Went to the Silverstone classic but it was a bit damp but a good day none the less. I also went to the BMW national festival at Gaydon again and had another go at the concours. I managed a 3rd place trophy this year so gives me room to improve for next year (must try harder).
Another 6 series owner (Faraz) took a nice pic of the car in the rain.
Running out of jobs to do on the car now which I guess is a good thing. Been faultless now for ages (touch wood) and am enjoying just driving it, not bored of the power yet either which can still surprise me sometimes.

Well, like any other performance car these are not without faults but I feel more confident with this engine and transmission than the V10/SMG combo that’s for sure.
Being much less thirsty then the V10 makes it an easier car to live with practically and financially on a day to day basis also.
