Engines are really good in these, a mass produced engine, and mine was remapped, I'd swear it was faster than my Boxster S in a straight line. Definitely much more torque at low revs for sure.
I've always shyed away from remapping non turbo'd cars.I take it there was a noticable difference? I'd consider getting it done if there was.

My other half’s 125i seems less peaky following a remap, there’s a much nicer mid range even compared to my 130i.

I think it’s the owner delivery that often gets smoothed out when mapping N/A cars.

The 125i would have been a good candidate for a remap. Isnt it basically the 3.0i anyway, just detuned? My other half’s 125i seems less peaky following a remap, there’s a much nicer mid range even compared to my 130i.
Thanks Wayne, I have a £20 unit from china on the way but will look that up also! I am not happy with the wired solution via Aux really.
Michelin Pilot Sport 4's are on and wow...what a difference. I was thinking of just keeping the run flats and see how it goes but so glad I didn't, handling wise its another level entirely and makes driving the car so much more a pleasure.

I changed the runflats on my 630i to MPS4s. What a difference!Michelin Pilot Sport 4's are on and wow...what a difference. Really well pleased with them. The ride quality is much improved.
I've them on my M140i also, but that was a change just from MPSS tyres when they were worn.

The PS4's are a great tyre I reckon. Plus you will really feel a change from swapping from the run flats too. I remember swapping the run flats to normal tyres on the 640d and the difference was night and day. I keep wondering what the new replacements for the PS4(the PS5) are going to be like, because I've been really happy with the PS4, so I'm hoping that the PS5 are more of the same. I hardly do any miles though...so it will probably be years before the PS4 need changing!
Just got a second replacement PDC module for the reversing sensors...and nothing. So frustrating. I have checked the sensors they are all ticking indicating they are functional. I have tried two replacement PDC units and neither made any difference. Tried cleaning up the sensors with a bit of WD40 and wiping them really clean. Nothing.

If we’d driven my other half’s 125i before buying it (Covid purchase), I think I’d have run a mile. It was hideous on the run flats. A change to normal tyres was night and day better.

Do you mean you've replaced the pdc controller? Part #3 66209129815 If so then it is quite possible someone has coded the car to turn them off.MOTK said:

Yes i replaced part 3, i tried two different used units from ebay and I get the same outcome. The sensors tick, all four of them, the unit I tried changing and still when I put it into reverse I get a long 5 second tone and then nothing. The previous owner (private sale) said they did work for him and he hadn't done anything to them, although how much to be believed is obviously open to debate.

As i said above i've a set of Z4Ms that i think i'll stick on this summer for a change but i dont think they'll have the wow factor of the CSLs even though i really do love the Z4M rims.
Are you sure they fit? The wheel offset on the rear of a Z4M is totally different than a 3.0Si.Had a spare hour today so got the Z4M wheels out and swapped over a rear. It sat out about an inch past the wheel arches which is just too much for me.
Bugger.

People do run M wheels on non-Ms though, but I've no idea how they get on with possible rubbing issues. Had a spare hour today so got the Z4M wheels out and swapped over a rear. It sat out about an inch past the wheel arches which is just too much for me.

Staggered 18s on the 3.0Si have 8.5J ET50 rears but 224s on the M are 9.0J ET30 rears so that's like more than a 25mm spacer!

Yes the wheel rim itself was sitting out about an inch past being flush with the bodywork, so probably closer to 1.5 to 2 inches out beyond how it would sit on a Z4M.Staggered 18s on the 3.0Si have 8.5J ET50 rears but 224s on the M are 9.0J ET30 rears so that's like more than a 25mm spacer!
They'll go up for sale now. They've had all the work done - powdercoated, new genuine centre caps, new genuine M badges, matching set of Michelin tyres.
They looked well on my E90 330i (10mm spacers on front) so potential there for someone, but in reality there would be someone with a Z4M would want them. Its just a matter of finding that customer.
