Everyone's opinions and advice is appreciated... I suppose the thing with modding is that you don't always set off with the intention of spending what you finally do... One thing kinda leads to another and before you know where you are, you've changed just about everything.

Must admit though, I've enjoyed the journey & the shows, etc and it's felt quite good having a car that's quite individual.

Probably won't be doing so much to my next car lol :-)
And that is all that matters...

Well done mate.

Wouldn't have a car like that myself, but that's not the point. Your car, your money and you enjoy it.

And that is all that matters. Not the self appointed style police.

Not my taste in car (being an older fart) but I think you have done a great job. Lots of people on here will chastise you, simply because they don't "get it".

Modding a car is about just that, making it different to the rest of the herd. It's a hobby (or profession) just like any other. "Back in the day", I seem to recall changing the wheels on my Austin Metro and adding some oversized cibies to the front. Rallying was my genre, so that was the "look".

"Modding" is about changing a car, it doesn't have to include performance enhancements, and regardless of the money involved, it should be appreciated for its own sake. People on here who "roll their eyes" are blinkered. I could spend 50k on a stamp collection, or a car - the car will just be what everybody else has, the stamp collection, however, will be unique.

If I want a fast car - I will buy one, if I want something different, I will "mod" it.

Simples ;-)

Have you ever been to Crail raceway? Would have been a while ago now. I remember thinking it was quite smart in the flesh paperbag I also remember those wheels.

I know this ain't necessarily a modifying site, so I expected a mixture of different tastes and opinions, but all-round I think it's been an interesting and enjoyable discussion... Thanks to everybody for the enthusiastic input (especially the supportive stuff lol) thumbup
This is a modifying website, plenty of us have functional modifications with some gay aesthetics thrown in for our homo side.

But the difference is that these functional mods usually improve the power, handling and braking whereas this is a max power heap that is now worth less than you paid for it.

I'm being brutally honest here, but if I wound back the clock to my 17th year, opened a max power and saw this, I would chuckle at the silly guy who never grew up from modz on meh cars.

Soo much car could have been had for this money without.

Sad

Have to admit, apart from the seats (without the stars) I don't really like the car. Given 50k (please?) I'd have done something totally different.

But the attitude is spot on! Well done sir. clap

It's really for the shows... With the boot open the 3 subs are very overpowering so you need the 6x9's to mix in a bit more vocals etc through the base... To be honest, I would have preferred to have another four 6x9's in there, but ran out of perimeter surface to fix them to :-(

Yeah, went up there over a year ago for a max power show at the end of the show season, but the weather was a total nightmare ( lashing rain & gale force winds lol ) ... So me & my 2 nephews settled for a few runs on the drag strip & an anstruther fish supper on the way back down lol... Happy Days! smile

SPOTTED!

EA51 JAZ spotted on A71 just outside Livi heading east. Looks ok in the flesh I suppose, I'd stick a white bonnet on it but then I'm boring like that. I was actually thinking "ooh, it looks quite nice" and was planning an imaginary modification project of my own in my head but there was a lovely Monaco a minute behind you on the road...

I thought that as well when I seen it a while back. Compared to other highly modified cars, it actually looks quite good in the flesh!
