I drove a 2016 5.0 V8 Mustang yesterday & despite the (muted) soundtrack & instant shove in any gear/any speed I was very happy to get back into my 2001 996 - much better drive & even prefer the interior, lack of toys included smile

The Mustang was much tail happier though, especially in the damp wink
Wife has a mustang with a Borla Exhaust in it. That will solve the muted soundtrack. It sounds like thunder once you open the taps.

But I still hate driving it. Interior is cheap and tacky. They have done a piss pot job converting it to right hand drive and the ride is like sitting on jelly.

Although it has just had the steeda full suspension bush and bracing kit on it and Pallas/peller (not sure on the actual name but well regarded in mustang circles) suspension kit fitted last Tuesday.

Unfortunately she had to go to work in London on Tuesday evening so I won’t get to drive it until the end of the month so will reserve judgment.

I’m currently saving (don’t buy cars on finance) for my next Porsche. Just have to decide which one. 987,981,996,997 or god forbid possibly a 718.

A gloved hand, or at a push a hand with a small sheet of sandpaper in it should do it.

However if its been overtightened the last time it was fitted -

Edit for terrible long link first time round:

I used a pipe wrench to initially loosen mine, but as per a canister style oil filter it just needs to be wound up by hand.

Just about to be put away after it's annual trip to the specialist.

Oil and filter change
Brake Fluid this year
Fuel cap replaced (rubber perished)
Number plate lighting fixing replaced (coroded)
Manifold to cross pipe gasket replaced

£474.50 - not bad things to maintain these old things

Although for me i've done sub 500 miles this year, so that's £1 a mile! hehe

I think that with my M030 setup sometimes too!
It’s good when the roads are clear though, like last night, a small perk of being very late in the office!

I ponder going full OAP spec but I'm worried I'd lose some of the feel. A by product of rock hard is you can feel everything - maybe.

Spoiler up?

That's rare for me nowadays as I just pootle about asking myself would a big soft barge make more sense. Especially when it comes to speed bumps with my rock hard setup. But then I remember that life is all about choices. And even though my car feels a bit hard and a bit cramped and a bit noisy I am still pootling round in a 22 year old 911 so it's not all bad.

No

I can't decide if the cold weather helps or if it makes the battery less peppy.
