Good job! In celebration, I would like very much for you to wash this and give the wheels a good clean

Steady on.

The wheels are in pretty poor shape - well no the shape is fine its the condition that's a mess. But I do have another set the same in better condition with recent ps2 tyres on. I have been toying with the idea of a refurb but in a colour other than silver. I'm actually thinking I should embrace the boxster red and get the wheels done in a similar shade. I just need to find somewhere that can do that.

Mini update

Been using this as my only car for the last 2 or 3 weeks. I have not noticed the ticking noise which came and went so either it is gone for good or it has just gone for now. Car works great.

No real problems except the lazy starter which has never left me stranded.

I did buy a new lock mechanism for the passenger door as it refused to open a few times in the summer. But this has not happened for months.

I used to get a soft clutch pedal when revving the car hard or it failing to return to the up position. I have not noticed this recently but I am only pottering around.

So other than all the exterior damage from mindless vandals and idiots the car is great. Really enjoying it.

I did get an advisory on the rear tyres so this might explain why they feel a bit looser getting away in first or perhaps this is just all the moisture and leaves on the roads.

It's been a long time since I have seen this thread!

I commented on your tail lights not looking very good the other day, but now I have seen more pictures of your car again, I think they look pretty good.

It needs a bath though

Something has broke on the driver's door. If I pull the handle the window drops but the door doesn't open.

I had the opposite on my, 986, which was the (one of many) microswitch . Mechanical fault could be the little latching rod to the handle - does it open from the inside?

I'm sure it will be an easy fix and remember, even if new door lock mech is required, it's the same as a TT and various other Mk4 golf era cars. (ie cheap!)

Yes it does open from the inside but sometimes it needs 2 attempts.

I had exactly this on my Boxster last week!

Not got round to sorting it yet but I’ve done a bit of reading and it looks like it’s a door card and door membrane off job but the actual fix itself should be relatively simple, essentially just re-connecting the handle mechanism to the door latch mechanism...all being well...

So a clip or something has just popped off?

From what I could see, yes...fingers crossed...

Hopefully that link shows the correct image and from what I understand, parts #9 and #12 can become detached from each other.
