The 2014 Alpina D3 Touring with *almost* moon mileage
Discussion
Keep up the good work!
I bought a 530d Tourint on 149k miles and it's superb. Always keep looking out for Alpina D5 for sale, but finding a Touring for sale is near impossible.
My mileage is either nothing or 500 miles in one day. Hope to get this to 250k miles.
Only issue so far has been the headlight which got the dreaded condensation issue and cost me the small sum of £2300 to replace...

298k done!
Also I have no idea what’s gotten into it.
Over the last 4 years I’ve seen 500 miles a tank plus or minus 10 miles.
This last tank it did 572 with 20 mile showing remaining! Knocking on for 50mpg! This wasn’t on long runs either.
The extra range is just due to the engine loosening up a bit now you've finally run it in Also I have no idea what’s gotten into it.

Such a great thread and effort. Epic is really appropriate, well done OP, you’ve really looked after this special car.
It’s tried its best to die since I got it:Engine going
Front springs snapping
High pressure fuel pump dying and taking the injectors with it
Then I hydrolocked it
Followed by a near terminal coolant leak
Still troops on though.
So fitted some gearbox mounts and an engine mount. With the help of my furry helper.
Sadly as is the way with cars, taking the slack out of those has only highlighted that I really need to replace the prop shaft centre bearing.
For some reason in all their wisdom BMW made these none serviceable.
Luckily with the amount of F30/F31's going to the scrap yard in the sky, I got a full propshaft, from a 2018 330d with 28k miles on it, for the princely sum of £75 delivered!
I'll be fitting that this week, once I work out how to get an exhaust off, which has been on for 299k miles....
Only 298 miles to go before the big 300k.
I don't want to just limp it past that mile stone. So fix we must.
