You need a VXR8 bell housing and a spacer to create the extra room. Mine is a standard T56 and it's the only thing that hasn't broken. I guess your modified version has a shorter input shaft?

Trouble with after market twin plates is they wear quickly and therefore drag, making it difficult to change gear over time. I had the same happen on my McLeod.

LS9 clutch is a completely different beast. It's bigger and the slave has more travel, that's why it takes up more space...but it works.
