Cheers all, I’m certainly going to be able to spot it in a car park… smile

Couple more pics now it’s out of the booth:

Goodness, not half bad that, it’s going to look amazing with the chrome bits…when do you get it back and have you brought enough bubble wrap to cover it whilst reassembling biggrin

Absolutely, it’s difficult to comprehend these pictures as my car. It’s been a silver for so long, and more recently a bare shell for two years, that seeing it like this is bit of a shock!

I’ve not seen it in person as it’s 200+ miles away, but I’ll make the trip to sign it off before it’s transported back.

Fark me that's stunning, and better than the silver - which was lovely, but rather muted.

Bet you can't wait to get it back together..

The only issue I found when rebuilding a beautifully repainted body shell is how tatty everything looks when you bolt it back on. laugh

How many hours do you reckon you've got on the shell repair/renovation/prep to date Gary ? (not including Mr Bean's time)

Honestly no idea! My own hours have to be deep into the hundreds. Barry put 120 in that he billed me for, but I have a feeling it was more. Paint is probably another 200…

Absolutely. I’m polishing the door frames and rear 1/4 window brightware at the moment. The rest I’m going to have to buy new. No way the originals are going back on.

I’m busy polishing brightware each evening, slow but rewarding.

I’m going fully polished for the end result but it’s so tempting to stay satin brushed when you are at this stage of the process! smile

Another hour with 1200, then 2000 grit wet then the Mothers polish. This is the first bit I’ve got to a ‘finished’ level bit no doubt I’ll do the rest then do this one again to make it match!

But it’s shiny enough for me. I know it’s not protected now, but it will keep me off the streets keeping it nice smile

In other news wings and bonnet are painted 😎
Whilst I’m polishing brightware Steve is painting. He’s still fighting the bumpers but it’s getting closer…

Now my sons Honda is in storage I can start to spread out the 911 parts and see all the prep work I have to do!

Started by digging into the the dusty time capsule in the corner of the garage that contains an engine and box. It’s not magically cleaned itself over the last 3 years, which is disappointing.

But its free from grinding dust and still turns over freely so happy about that!

I’ve just received the latest pics.
It’s finished smile

I can’t describe how happy I am with it, I really don’t want to assemble it, it just needs framing.

The gaps and light lines are SO good.

Will be going down next weekend to sign it off, but I’m damn sure it won’t need any adjustments.
Then it’s time to book the transport and get it back up North!
