Supercharged Wide Arched MK1 MX5
Discussion
Hi All
So have owned my S-Special Type II about 3 years now and love it and had no plan of changing it, how it stands at the moment
Until I saw a Supercharged one for sale on MX5Nutz, went up to see it and loved it so left a deposit and collected it Last Friday.
Found an old for sale ad for it on Driftworks from 2011, how it looked then,
Since then it has had fitted a IL Motorsports front bumper, smooth rear panel and it has had a full respray in black with Rainbow Flake in the clearcoat
So how it looks now
So Mods are :
Engine
Jackson Racing Supercharger
Front Mounted Intercooler
Power card Fuel Control
Bipes Retarder
Fitted with COPS coil per plug
Dyno'd last month at 174.8 BHP
Drivetrain
Gaz Coilovers
Grooved Discs with Yellowstuff Pads
XXR 513's 15x7 front, 15x8 Rear
Interior
Shorty Console
Momo Steering Wheel
Momo Gearknob
Exterior
IL Motorsport Front Bumper
MX5 Dan wide arches
Vented headlight cover
Smoothed rear panel
Smoked lights all round
Trs Yellow Tow Strap
Respray in black with Rainbow Flake
Vinyl Softop
Thinks thats all of it. Having not owned a FI MX5 before I love how it is now with the extra power, only thing I think my old one was missing and the colour looks amazing when the sun hits it.
Plans are to fit the parts I want to keep from my other 5, such as Tr Lane GPV Rollbar and change the seats and then sell that one on, then just want to tidy the interior up on this one and do a few other bits

I think it would look loads better with 8"s on the front too, I thought these arches were to allow the wide, square set ups?
Other than that looks good and bet it goes well!
We'll see might try some spacers on the front in the future but fine with how they are at the moment. Other than that looks good and bet it goes well!
Does go well, feels a lot faster than my other 1.8 mx5, always thought they could do with more power

Like it very much.. Jus think of chav Corsa's with that number plate tacked on the bumper.
Can sort of understand making it look smooth but the must be a more elegant solution surely?

Would look better with no front plate, could possibly put a bracket on the side but then it would hide the side of the bumper.
It's more the rear bumper-mounted numberplate letting the whole rear end down. The number plate recess breaks the rear of the car up as standard and makes it look wider as a result. Smoothed-in, it just looks like it's been involved in some sort of rear-ender or it's been hit with the barry'ing stick

Plan to eventually change it for a debadged eunos rear panel like this one on my other 5 - Gassing Station | Readers' Cars | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
