My most fav 5er that what a classic retro beast... That's a proper bmw. If you ever decide to part with her drop me a line
I'll keep you in mind, although I've stopped counting the money I've spent..

It's not like I could find another once I'd sold it and regretted it! I think this is the only one left in the UK

Love this, everything about it! The single wing mirror looks perfect, ha it's electric too!? Also the 528 badge on the back missing the i, just perfect. Would love to hear that six sing through a carb if you ever make a video clip. Enjoy!
Cheers. Yeah, single electric mirror - pretty unique I think! This is a changeover year car so has some pre and some post facelift parts.

I'll see if I can sort you a video, exhaust is largely stock other than custom stainless downpipes as these are nla but it certainly sounds carby. Got to love the sound of an M30..

I really like your car OP. Great job.

So much so that I have taken a punt on a green 528i that popped up on carandclassic and was mentioned in a thread somewhere.

It is quite rusty in places (doors mainly) and I haven't had the chance to go over it properly and formulate a plan for works. But even if it ends up costing me more than I have budgeted ( a near certainty) I hope I get it looking as smart as yours.

I drove it 110 miles home without too much bother though the engine cooling seemed inadequate and it needs a clutch.

It is just such a clean shape after looking for a 2002 for a couple of years I think the E12 is much more my cup of tea
Excellent! I enquired about this car too! Please keep me updated on your progress. I shall pm you

Thanks very much, guys.

The only panels the same are the doors and roof pressing. Front doors still need modification to the window frames in order to swap them over.

The paint from the respray started falling off in big sheets. A long story that I don't particularly want to revisit..

Anyhow - I've recently got some pictures from the bodyshop, it's been in a year so it's about time!

Any updates?
Only just seen this! Yes, I've still got it. New carb went on this summer, running much better now - the choke as stuck on on the old carb. It's currently sat on a set of 14x7 Mahles. I am considering letting it go in order to try something different although I would probably regret it deeply in the future! I'll see if i can find a recent piccy

I have decided to sell this after 7 years. It is listed on Pistonheads. Hoping it will go to a good home!
