Your car looks 10/10, been following your golf tdi thread since 2011 on ukmkivs.

any future plans for the gti ?

well done with the lows though, lowered cars look way better than stock thumbup
Cheers.

Yes I have a k04 set up to go on.. should take me to about 320bhp.

Then will focus on fully polybushing it , also got some uprated brakes to go on.

Been very busy lately.

Got these through....

New spigot rings as well.

Polished up the dishes once again, applied some Cquartz protection and topped with Reload. Picking up these tonight....

Not quite finished in the above picture, needed a few more coats and flatting and polishing. I will be polishing them up if necessary and applying Cquartz to them prior to having them built up.
Tomorrow morning will get the tyres on and have them mounted.

Probably too high grade, as 12.9 has virtually no stretch, and the shiny zinc coating will make them even more brittle.
Hate to say it, but expect these to start sheering as soon as those wheels go on and you drive around on them.

One good pothole and could be split wheel city.
You'll find nearly all split rim bolts are 12.9... my old ones were 12.9 too and they were all fine.

Love the purple AMG wheels, just sad they will need to use hub adaptors. Bye-bye steering feel.
Cheers..

They don't need hub adaptors though..not that fitting PCD adaptors would effect steering feel anyway

And yes, were painted at Lemass smile
Get on with Tom well there, he's a very good guy and quality is top notch. Did take a long time but he did them for me at a very good price so can live with that.

This thread makes me feel disappointed. I usually feel this way with cars that are modded for the dub scene.

I feel as though the modifications are misguided and the disappointed comes from all the money, time, effort and skill that has been put into a stanced car.

I have a friend, the OP may know him, he won best wheels at Goodwood Classic, he builds amazing cars. The effort involved is unreal and he is extremely skilful. I could sit and watch him fabricate all day, its truly amazing. I feel as though if he put the effort into building something functional instead of for aesthetics his time would be much better spent.

My latest challenge for him is to build a car on air-ride that utilizes ground effect when aired out hehe and rides comfortably and normal at its usual ride height. At least then it would have a functional reasoning behind the air-ride.
I don't know him.

Aww, thanks buddy.

Got any pics of your old motor?

I am hankering after a more serious performance build now. Just because I've ran out of non-expensive things to do. Only thing left is perhaps a bigger subwoofer and a complete interior retrim.

Thinking if I were to get a Leon or Edition 30 or even better an Audi S3...

Nevertheless done a few little mods... mainly doing a euro rear light conversion to convert the fog light to a second reverse light (and bringing some symmetry to the rear end).

Next up is to change the front tyres to 205/40, fit some Polybushes on the front wishbone, get some Poly Ball joints, and a few other bits to tighten up the handling.

Great car. Those wheels were factory options (before anyone accuses me of creating a wannabe Valver biggrin).

Had several golfs since, the last being a MK5 R32, which was... OK. Bit of a confused car, but it sounded glorious.
Looks like a great car mate! I agree completely with the Mk5 R32 smile

I think that you completely missed the point of my post.

So I'll make it simple, you could use your skills to build something meaningful instead of this pointless aesthetic ste.
I think you completely missed the point of MY post

Meaning that I couldn't give a rats arse what you think. infact, i take that back. I'd give you a fresh, warm rats arse and deliver it to you by throwing it in your face.

Christ on a bike, if you're intent on looking holier than thou, at least make sure you've got cast iron holier evidence.
It's very, very common (and perfectly legal) to do this sort of symmetrical conversion on cars and put a red LED/bulb in the new cluster, then wire it up as a fog.

The slating has been done to death - if you don't like it, how about moving on. The old adage of 'If you haven't got anything nice to say' rings true - do you not realise the OP is revelling in your miserable gripings and just winding you up?
tongue out

It still has a rear fog light - It just also light up white when in reverse. And red when the rear fog light is turned on.
