The seat that came with the car was flat and uncomfortable. I made a horrendous looking DIY job with a vacuum bag, expanding foam and bean bag pellets, wrapped in brown cloth tape.

This was comfy but looked like dogst.

It was time to finally make something a bit more proper. I shouldve taken more photos really but I didn't. I made the base with ply. Cut some formers and then 25mm wide strips and screwed and glued together. Glued some 25mm foam to it and wrapped in hessian.

I got some decent vinyl and some foam scrim and made a pattern. Then set my wife to work with her sewing machine...

Coming along...

Is it perfect? No.

Is it comfy? Yes.

Then on Saturday we went out and got caught out in the rain, which then turned into hail. Had to find a tree to hide under....

Then it turned to rain again and we got soaked...

I also carpeted out the boot to make sure stuff didn't rattle around as much....

Well, with the spun discs the wheels were smaller (15" instead of 17"), wider (135 instead of 100), and the front track will decrease too.

Victoria has now been sold and is off to live in South Wales with her new owner.

It was fun getting her into the back of a sprinter!

Indeed!

Hopefully with more space in the garage and more time to devote to TinTub I can actually crack on and finish it!

Then I have another project lined up.... I'm a gluten for punishment
