Thank god for businesses like @sierrasrus.co.uk for developing improved parts for Cosworths. Lovely billet alloy item replaces the terrible rubber donut on the steering column….it could have been tragic

(Description from @sierrasrus.co.uk )

Here at SIERRS’R’US NORTH WEST LTD after many months of development testing we are proud to announce the new steering linkage doughnut kit available in stock for the following

3 Door 2WD Sierra Cosworth and RS 500 including Sierra Sapphire 2WD Cosworth complete replacement steering linkage doughnut design and machined from AA7068 extremely high strength alloy the strongest of all commercial grades of aluminium commonly known as Tennalum finished in anodised black for that period look this kit is a direct replacement of the 30+ year old rubber doughnut that over time perishes then deteriorates which leads to sloppy and wayward steering this kit totally eliminates all these problems for improved precise steering and handling

This kit includes
1) alloy AA7068 doughnut finished, anodised black
4) high tensile 12.9 Allan key style cap bolts
4) Aerotight Nuts ie meaning that when tightened into position the undersize section of the nut is forced outward creating high friction and a more secure 'locked nut
6) flat washers
Item is priced at £64.99 including postage to the uk and mainland only.

Not really, it’s all rose jointed or solid mounted, but the bush itself has 2 bracing bars across the bush so held together.

Last job before winter. Sadly some bubbling came up, turning out to be the dreaded rust worm working its way through the rolled arch. Luckily only a single section on one arch. All sorted now…

Usual new year jobs, full service and again a repair on the quarter after the gate hit it frown

Just read through the whole thread, what an impressive thing your car is.I cut my teeth back in the day with numerous Escorts etc.I've since been into my Japanese stuff but I'm always looking out at old Ford shenanigans,if I'm honest its things out of the norm that catch my eye and if they've been done properly. This certainly falls well into that bracket, and more than worthy of the magazine features.Very nice work! The car looks great in all the pictures, but have to say the low shots from the rear with the diff lurking there look very very cool.
Appreciate the views, thanks! But likewise, the sneaky diff shots are always my favourite too
