does it have the same off center pedal/wheel/seat combo like the saxo
No they don't. The Saxo/AX/106 has that because they're so small, and PSA went to the extreme end of the 'packaging' scale. The Xsara is much bigger.

My Dad used to be body shop manager at s Citroen dealer and turned up in a Xsara vts one day. 'Go and have a go in that thing,' he says, I wasn't bothered-it was just some piss yellow Citroen to my eyes.. anyway off I went, it was brilliant! Miles better than whatever piece of Ford ste I was in at the time and I was totally impressed. I owned one in the end, it was pretty cheap by the time I bought it but still a great laugh for no money. Tres bien

My dad had a citroen xsara identical to this one. First car I drove too, in a morrisons car park with him beside me laugh

I remember the horn being on the indicator stalk which used to infuriate him because it was different to every previous car. Every single time he went to beep someone, he pressed the centre of the steering wheel which obviously didn't work. This made his rage get even worse fumbling around searching for the button biggrin

I also remember it having a constant issue with the airbag warning light which only appeared if you moved the passenger seat position.

there is a blow on the exhaust small hole on rear section. would. piece of chewing gum over it and then set suffice for the meantime. don't want to shell out for an exhaust even though it's only 40 quid.

50 quid for a set of period vts alloys and tyres and set of lowering springs (not fitted yet) amazing the grip difference with a decent of tyres.

That is a lot of grip.

Joking aside those wheels make a big difference to the appearance, nice one.

so the clutch died in this. Had a new one fitted also changed the belt oil and plugs.

needs a new exhaust brake master cylinder

the heater doesnt work either worked on full blast when i got it then stopped altogether. had it to bits power to the motor direct form the battery. rear demistor stopped at same time have been told it could be ignition switch. i had a saxo as my first car and it had no issues at all this thing has loads. i appreciate it's a 20 year crap car but would be a shame to scrap it for a few niggles. iv'e not seen another mk1 xsara anyewhere since iv'e had it or a mk2.

with good reason i assume

I had a phase 2 VTS at 4 years old and 26k miles. It was a nightmare for issues from day one, right until the point of total engine failure. Issues you couldn't imagine a normal car having. You have my sympathies.

and I had a phase 1 VTS for a couple of years and it was faultless. I sold it around 100k and it went on to 200k before being scrapped.

That is good. I liked the car a lot. I think the car become worse as a phase 2.
