the seating thing is fair comment - the seat seems to be about an inch too high. There are a couple of mods, one of which involves removing a coupe of spacers on the seat frame and the othr which involves removing some of the quite generous seat squab padding.

I quite like the driving position (although it could be improved) but I can understand why some people don't and the seats do seem to lack a bit of lateral support

I'm planning on taking a look at both options when I get half an hour to spend with a friend of mine that is a vehicle upholsterer. He reckons they can be modified easily and cheaply
I'd be interested to know how you get on with modifying seats, its my one real gripe with my GTV, but I want to keep them looking standard. Watch the airbag connectors when you take the seat out though, or the light will permanently be on (though it probably is already wink)!

Aside from that its in a great colour, I think I've only seen TS GTVs in it, but really suits the V6.

That is definitely on my shopping list. I'd love one! Do you use it daily? How is the fuel consumption?

yes. it is Proteo red - great colour smile

Yep, I do use it daily but to be honest I'm not really keeping that much of an eye on fuel consumption. I just put fuel in when I'm passing the garage smile

I'd guess it's doing somewhere in the mid to high twenties - about the same (probably slightly less) as the E55 we had previously - but I didn't buy it for fuel economy smile

the trick seems to be to disconnect the battery before removing the seat and make sure that the seat connectors have a cable tie holding them together when you re-assemble stuff smile

looks excellent, love the colour in the sun, i imagine it doesnt look so nice when the weather crap though.

what are the maintenance costs like on these, is it just the cambelt that needs pretty regular attention?

it looks good whatever the weather smile

maintenance costs, Cambelt change every few years seems to be the biggie at about £800. The recommend interval is higher on the V6 engines than the twinnies although I'll probaly err on the side of caution and change it on a lower mileage.I've not heard too many horror stories about huge servicing bills and replacement parts don't seem to be too badly priced

im sure it does but the deep red does look lovely in sunny weather and when gleaming clean.
i have a ford galaxy in a very similar colour and the paint looks lovely in the sun once polished (even if the car does not) but once there is any dirt on it it just looks so dull.

go on then, I'll agree with you - the colour does show dirt/dust like no other but if it's too cold to wash it myself, my local hand car wash are only too happy to take my £5 in return for a gleaming car smile

£5 is a bit of a bargain if you have a good set of cleaner lads. its not hard to hoover and wipe down the interior in most weather yourself anyway. the deep alfa romeo reds really are stunning shades.
