Looks like you had a nice time mate, hope you enjoyed our roads!!
Nice of Lands end to let you take the car in for a picture, my mate is the manager of the hotel there!
There are some absolute cracking roads around there, it's just the narrow lanes in between them that are interesting... I'll get a pic my mate took later on a particularly narrow one.Nice of Lands end to let you take the car in for a picture, my mate is the manager of the hotel there!
I was surprised how laid back they were with taking your car down to have the pic, just had to go and check it was OK at the visitor centre and that was it. The health and safety level was one to be applauded...
We had one half clear run for a bit of the road down there and it was great fun, sadly you soon catch some dodderer in a Zafira with a million tonnes of crap on the roof..
My mate was thinking about taking his GTR down there but within 20 min of being in St Ives on the first day not taking it was a great idea
One of the roads near where we stayed

That was me. Been to the Higgins Rally School today so would've been heading to/from there.
Really good day I'd definitely recommend it.
As I'm posting anyway, a small update on the car. Still all running well but I have gained a slight water leak from somewhere so need to look into where that's coming from. Hopefully nothing too major.
Also fitted some lower arms from a Spec C for a bit of a castor increase and have some Eibach camber bolts ready to go in for a geo setup. Just waiting on a setup to be sent over to me that's supposed to be really good. Soon as I have that the cars going in and having it done.

Well this is it, after 2 years of expense, heartache, joy, smiles, laughter, rage annoyance and more expense this thread is officially over.
The original plate is back on and the car has had its final clean today before it goes to its new owner in the morning. I need to do some money saving/free up some cash so I'm buying a liquid yellow R26 for a year while house deposit is saved. The Megane will either then be sold next year to fund the purchase or I'll keep it as a toy really not sure yet.
I'll be gutted to see it go, I've wanted an Impreza since I was 10 and now I've had one it feels quite sad to let it go.
Goodbye Subaru you'll be much missed.

Had to find this thread after seeing your Megane; both stunning cars and would make a cracking two car garage! Just a shame you had to sell, especially after the lengths you went to with the engine re-build. Someone has got a cracker there! I've watched your Megane thread, look forward to seeing what it's like to live with as a daily.
Selling up wasn't the easiest decision but the Meg is proving easier on the wallet than I expected so far, consumable parts seem to be cheaper and I didn't realise quite how bad the Impreza is on fuel until last week, 150 miles to work and back has been doing around 40-45 quid in Shell V Power! Impreza's and attempting to save cash don't work well together
Saying that I've had days where I really miss having it, but there are days when the Meg is a nicer place to be with it being quieter and a bit comfier. Not much comfier but a bit...

I'm coming to the Friday service at Rally GB, and I'm on the list for the Silverstone one as well but may come off that at the start of next week, I've been asked to go mountain biking round Llandegla, never been there and I want to go and have a play. Think weather forecast will be the decider
