How did I miss this? I have always thought the Elite/Éclat/Excel should have had a V8, and this is the best of those that I've seen. Love the colour.

I even considered doing a TVR V8 conversion to one once - the proper 4.5 AJP one though, not a Rover. Would a T5 box fit without too much surgery? Not my fav box but there's a bellhousing for the AJP.

Mind you, the AJP is a nightmare come emissions testing time so probably not the most sensible.

It is running on OBX throttle bodies.
Different bonnet/scoop. Total respray, new wheels and tyres, etc etc

Just needs final detailing. Then you can buy it!!
What a great looking machine, you've made a great job of that

Good work!! Your car was the inspiration to start my Eclat project.
Mine's a fair bit trickier though as it's getting a 3UZ 4.3 vvti, BMW gearbox and pretty much a complete Jag XJS back end including LSD - https://www.thelotusforums.com/forums/topic/102742...

Love the noise. It's like a TVR with decent handling.

Great to see this.

Rather interesting fact is that Lotus and TVR wedges had the same guy styling them : Oliver Winterbottom.

I'm just reading his book and its fascinating.

The models from Elite onward all seem to be designed for the 907 4 cylinder and also a Lotus design V8
which I first heard about in the Etna.

Thanks for the comments.
Had to fit a new speedo cable today, so while it was in the workshop I thought i would put it on the corner weight scales.
1150kg - the same as stock!! Shows how heavy that awful slant four is......
Reckon I could easily get 80kg out with a litium battery, remove back seats and lighter front seats. Oh, that boot spoiler must weigh 10kg+!
Funny, the weight is the same as my Alfa147 TS!!
