MOT passed with no advisories this morning.

On 77k now & ten years old this summer, so will have to stump up for a timing belt & water pump. The car has cost nothing to run over the three years I’ve had it, so can’t complain!

I have to say, it still feels as tight as a drum.

Brake fluid changed again today. Can’t believe it’s two years since I last did it. The new stuff looked exactly the same as the old so not quite convinced it was 100% necessary, but an easy job.

Annual oil change next.

Annual oil change tonight. Tried using an oil extractor for the first time, was ok but knew there must be about 300-400ml left which was confirmed when I took the sump plug out. Doubt I’ll bother with it again.

Oil filter was the usual arse to get off as well.

All done though, and once again it hasn’t used a drop of oil over the year.

Going to have to fork out for a timing belt change very soon….

Very nice.

Although when I read the title I thought "god there can't be much room in a Fiesta engine bay to fit the V8 out of an S5"

Fiesta is dead.

Was out on Saturday & noticed a slight misfire which got worse as I nursed it home. Assumed I’d be shelling out £50 for a new coil pack. Oh how wrong I was….

Found a cracked spark plug & the garage confirmed that all cylinders were down on compression, but cylinder 4 was down to 90psi, half of what it should be.

Gutted doesn’t come close.

Ahh bugger! ☹️

Is it not worth you putting another engine in it? I have a 16 plate ST2 and I’d really struggle to replace it with something I enjoyed as much

Cheers, no idea what happened! I also thought they were pretty much indestructible if treated well......

I do get you, but the car is needed as a daily so can't really be off the road for a long period, plus I'd be worried that the replacement engine would have an unknown history, etc.

Yes I thought they were pretty bombproof, sorry to hear it's bit the dust!

Slightly off topic but has anyone got any experience / recommendations on suspension refreshes? Mines approaching 100k now and has lost it's sharpness . . .
