2012 R.S Clio 200
Discussion
Hi all,
Been a member of the forum for a while so I thought it was time I'd start making a few posts and a thread of my recent car.
Took delivery of the car end of May, treated myself to a 21st birthday present.
Spec of the car:
. Recaro seats
. Cup pack; stiffer/ lower suspension, quicker steering rack, red brembos and anthracite wheels
. Push start engine button
. Keyless entry
. Air con
. Climate control
. Cruise control
. Speed limiter
. Red line rev counter beep warning
0-60 in 6.5
Top speed 141 mph
I decided for the car as its a perfect daily driver with all the luxuries and also had the kit to be able to go for spirited driving or trackdays in standard form.
Anyway, some pictures of the car:
The car definitely has met every expectation and exelled in them, I can see why the car wins best hot hatch,
The handling is mind blowing for a fwd hot hatch, the brakes are a perfect compliment and give plenty of trust in them,
And straight line speed is plentiful for what is needed.
Already took it to Le Mans for the classics show, planning on the nurburgring this time next year, just can not seem to get myself out of the car, it's so rewarding to drive.
No major plans for the car as it needs for nothing. All I have done is bought a K&n replacement panel filter to appreciate the 7,700 rpm n/a sound and plans for a subtle exhaust upgrade. Time will tell

Very nice, I'd love a go in an RS Clio.
Word of warning though, after 4 years hopefully your keyless entry, climate control and electric windows still work...............because those are the faults I've got with an 08 RS Megane at the moment, that and the interior sounding like its not actually attached to the car anymore!
I forgive these things on the right road on the right day though it must be said!

Thanks for the comments
It's just shy off 6K, I managed to do 2K in France.
I'm not fussed on the speedlines, look like the laguna wheels and they're heavier, so I just kept the standard cup pack wheels.
It is loosening up the more I'm doing it in, looking forward to getting in k&n panel in.
I had a 172 before this, and the 200 is miles ahead in every aspect apart from straight line speed, due to it being heavier. Seats are lovely too. I'm happy

Not long had ours but we didn't go for cup spec. Still a cracking car.
One thing that annoys me about it though is the lumpy cold start and the kangaroo jumps when you let the clutch out in first gear. It seems fine on the initial uptake of drive but then goes into a huge flat spot before picking up again. Have you had this on yours ?
Was thinking a remap might sort it.

What's wrong with it? It does the job and looks fine IMO.
It's grey, bland and thoughtless. Just look at all the touch points like hand brake and gear knob. Aren't these the same as fitted to the boggo models? Clocks look good though. It's a real shame because the outside and seats really look the business.I love the concept of sporty clios. Always wanted a Williams, adore the V6 and have massive respect for the 172/182. I just couldn't stare at that grey awfulness for my daily commute.
It was one of the reasons I picked the ST over the VXR/Clio/Jap stuff. The interior is a really nice place to sit.
It's opinion. I completely respect your right to disagree.
Lovely car always surprises me how they are slower than a 182 both in a straight line and on track though.
But overall agree a nicer car and the seats are lovely chose well to buy one now before the new one comes out which to my eyes looks st and lacks a proper gearbox
Get yourself on cliosport.net if you haven't already btw
