AC ACE V8 (Brookland)
Discussion
As requested a bit more info and photo's.
I've had the car for about a year, it was registered in 1998.
The car mentioned in Bristol is not mine, I live near Dartford, Kent.
There were 46 mark 1 cars (easily identified by round headlights) which are all hand moulded aluminium panels. The mark 2 cars (my one) have the
single headlights, composite bonnet and pressed aluminium panels.(The idea being to reduce cost). They were selling for circa £70,000 in the
day (or rather they weren't) . There are about 8 of these.
All cars had a variety of engine types and were all unique as I understand, no two are exactly the same. The cars consist of mainly Ford parts much
the same as older TVR's did.
Problems seem (in my case) to be electric windows having a mind of there own. Other than that its great fun.

Nice to see one being used - quite fancied one TBH.
Keep the thread updated please![smile](/inc/images/smile.gif)
It had been sat in a garage for 13 years prior to me buying it. I've only done about 1000 miles so far as the 'fettling' took quite a bit of time (mainly due to perished rubber connectors/hoses catching me out - I should have replaced them all at the start). But the intention was and is to use it.Keep the thread updated please

Never seen pictures of one of these...I seem to recall that there was an AC ME3000 (?) back in the day
There is a bit of MX5 about the rear lights on yours, and the interior looks a lot better finished than some 90's TVRs I have seen and driven.. a pal had an S3 that I looked after for a while and the interior trim was very poor.
Any pics of the version with the round headlights ?
Nice car by the way, I would imagine that it is rather quick !

Not as quick as the 5lt TVR Griffith or Chimera. The specs say 0-60 around 5.4 secs (more or less depending on which figures are correct) and 155mphThere is a bit of MX5 about the rear lights on yours, and the interior looks a lot better finished than some 90's TVRs I have seen and driven.. a pal had an S3 that I looked after for a while and the interior trim was very poor.

A quick update
I finally decided to replace the steering wheel, the flat bottom one (fitted by someone as an aftermarket) was driving me nuts, especially as being 350mm it obscured anything over 55mph. I think the early E30 / E36 wheel suits the car better.
I changed the gear knob and handbrake to the brushed aluminium Nardi ones, they match the dash nicely I think.
Next.
Rear suspension upgrade, with new springs and adjustable shocks. (currently being made up)
