So here's the car no-one thought I'd buy.

I've had her 4 months and enjoying every minute of it, when she isn't playing up and needing some tlc.

I assume it's a 1275 if it's a Sprite?

One of the last carb models, my brother has a K reg sprite, you'll find some of the wiring loom is similiar to the incoming injection models and some bits like the earlier carbs!
Yep, certainly a mix.

You'll also have to be pretty firm at MOT time thats its carb and not injection like the computer often says...
Well if the bloke see's a choke, he can work it out for himself hehe

Looks lovely. Any mod plans?
Other than restoring the rust, refurbing the wheels, adding spotlights and a weber I don't. hehe

Oh, and a straight through exhaust or similar.

Lovely car - can't believe they were running these thing on carbs all the way to L reg...must have been one of the only cars available at the time without injection, surely?
Pass on that.

The heat shield was floating around, so secured it up with two jubilee clips.

Now need to seal the small holes in the backbox with some Gun Gum.

RC40 or Maniflow?
I'm not sure actually. The previous owner claimed the exhaust was standard, but I don't think it is.

Very nice.

Find yourself a friendly MOT garage though, pushing my 94 Sprite through emissions every year is a total pain in the arse. Does it have a CAT?
I believe it does have a CAT above the heatshield.

Good plan MiniMan64 thumbup

Looks like the Mini is going to be jacked up once again.

One of the jubilee clips didn't hold the heatshield in place.

Bugger. banghead

Just lose the heatsheild, it's just another thing to rattle/fall off.
So it isn't that important? Even though its meant to keep the underside cool? confused

The engine is playing silly buggers once again. For some reason it wants to misfire occasionally.

So its spending more time like this than it should be:

On the cards to sort out is:

Dizzy cap

Condensor

Contact Points

Air Filter

Cheers!

Managed to change the HT leads to see if it would resolve the hesitation from the throttle. All seemed well on that front, but now I've got to focus me efforts on finding out why the rad is leaking.
