Good God that's a lovely green cloud9
Agreed and I am not normally a green Caterham fan but this is fantastic!!

The paint is the same finish as the Dupont paint that is on the Team Lotus Formula 1 Cars.

Both the yellow and white stripes are hand painted, and I have to say the quality of the finish is just incredible.

It takes 3 days just to apply this paint scheme, and it really shows when you see it the daylight!!

Looks superb biggrin
Is this the version that is signed by the Lotus f1 drivers?
Indeed it is, it will actually be personally signed on a plaque for the dashboard.

We have to wait for the Trip to the Team Lotus Factory in Norfolk to get the signatures in the book and the dashboard plaque.

Should be a god day out!

Very... very nice.

I think it needs clear side repeaters on the wings though: I don't understand why they're still orange when the indicators are clear!
I agree too, they were changed to clear ones about 30 mins after that photo was taken!! cool

That looks fantastic. I saw somewhere recently the same car parked front on to the f1. I was amazed how small the Caterham looked.

Is this the Duratec engined 500?
Hey Mike,

It is the fully endorsed F1 Colour Scheme, so its the same colours as the current Team Lotus F1 team cars!!

And Yes it is the R500 Duratec with the 263 BHP 2.0 Duratec engine!!

Just noticed the number plate. Snazzy.
Thanks, the number plate should of course read R500 TL, for R500 Team Lotus

However as it was prepped and first registered by Caterham Cars, so they have covered themselves by putting the plate exactly as it is registered, IE R50 OTL.

I am sure a new plate will be along soon!!

Thanks, he has already been pretending to drive it whilst sat in the garage.

The rain stopped play yesterday, s I hope it cheers up today.

Will do - I believe that Tom is now a bit of a minor international celebrity amongst the Seven crowd thanks to your YouTube postings from your previous 7! thumbup
Thanks yes Toms video does seem to be very widely traveled!!

A lot of is down to the Youtube video, but also a big thanks to Caterham Cars for featuring it on the CC Main Website too.

I also think the guys who picked it up on StreetFire helped to promote it in the US too!!

So is it faster than the F1 car? Can't be hard surely hehe
Thanks, it is pretty quick as you know the R500 is one of the fastest production cars in the world - 0-60 in 2.9 Seconds!!

However its not F1 Quick, and I do think that Jarno and Heiiki probably have considerably more talent than I do, even if there F1 cars are not as quick as the rest of the current field right now!!

It is fun pretending you are an F1 Driver though, and it does make some very cool race engine sounds too!! cool

Hey Luke, you never know, I am often up around Tamworth and Cannock, with the occasional trip a bit further north sometimes too!!
