I've lurked on here for quite a while so thought I should really say hello and put a few pictures of my car up.

I've had my Scirocco just coming up to three years now in which time I've done a few bits and pieces. Some pictures from when I first had it to how it looks now and a brief run down of some of the things that have been done below.

First pictures are from when I first picked her up:-

These next pictures are how it looks now:-

Few bits and pieces done:-

Rear model badges removed
Lowered 25mm on Eibach springs
Revo stage 1 Map
ITG induction kit
Golf ball gear knob
Metal pedals and footrest cover
Blank switch stickers (picture below as it just sounds odd without!)

Original wheels refurbished in matt black and fitted with Nokian WRA3 Winter tyres
Full geometry set up by Centre Gravity
Rear section exhaust with rear silencer removed
VW Racing Satin Anthracite wheels (to be fitted with Summer tyres and go on about March)

It's putting out about 220 bhp and 235 lbft of torque - not too bad for a 1.4! Still returns about 35 mpg on mostly urban runs too so not too bad on the fuel either.

Last Summer at GTi International I had my first ever go on the drag strip and got a 5.67 0-60 and 14.4 quarter mile and I didn't exactly do a wonderful job so think there is a bit more to give yet.

Future plans are mostly handling upgrades and possibly upgraded intercooler and radiator for better heat management.

Any questions or comments gratefully received - I've got plenty of pictures of the various mods if there is anything anyone wants to see.

Thanks for looking!

Nice, I like the blank sticker things....ebay?
Got them direct from a US company called Aesthetic Creations. There's about 24 stickers in total I think

5.6 to 60 at 220bhp? Is it DSG or manual?
Manual. I was quite surprised to be honest but that's what the timing equipment showed and other people who ran times seemed consistent with what they expected.

I'm going to give it another few runs this year so will know for sure then I guess.

I do quite like these, have you got any pictures of the interior?
You'll have to excuse the state of the inside - I hate cleaning the inside for some reason!

A couple of general interior pictures:-

And the pedals and gear knob:-

Very impressive times what power are these standard? 170?

What was ur terminal speed?
160bhp stock. I don't know what the terminal speed was as the timing equipment at Gti doesn't provide it

5.6 to 60 sounds slightly out, pretty sure that's what an R with DSG does and that's got an extra 40+bhp!
Yeah i was surprised but the times were consistent with the others cars running and all the other tuned twincharged cars were generally in the mid 5's (ibiza's, fabia's, etc).

The twincharged engines also get the power down better than the 2.0 turbos in things like the Golf Gti, etc giving the good 0-60 but then loose out as the speed increases.

As i said, be interesting to see when i run it again what sort of times it gets.

Looks really smart, I can remember the day I picked up mine... They certainly do look the part and are great cars to mod... In terms of the power upgrades i assume it was the 160 DSG that you've remapped? i only had the 122 for insurance purposes as I was 18 at the time and didnt wish to take finance so money was tight but nevertheless good fun! smile
160 manual. They are great all rounders, can't think what I'd replace mine with to tick all the same boxes without spending a lot more. I used to change my car about every 6 months so the fact i still have this 3 years on speaks volumes!

Fair enough. Forgot to say, nice car you've got there. The housemate has an 'R' DSG and I've been very impressed by it and love how it looks.
Cheers!

Nice car looks good in white...

Did you get figures off a dyno? As my friend has one and is interested in doing the same...
I've got a couple of dyno run plots. I'm on my phone at the moment but will get them posted up tomorrow. One is with just Revo and one with Revo and Itg

Got chance to get the dyno run pictures uploaded. First picture is with Revo alone (and also shows a trace for Revo's version of the stock map)

Next is the dyno runs with the ITG filter and the Revo and there is also a trace without the ITG on as a comparison (these graphs are wheel horsepower rather than engine power). The car was run a number of times - the first graph is for the run with the highest wheel figures achieved with and without the ITG. The second graph shows an example of another run - peak figures weren't quite as high but quite similar and it was the same story on the other runs that were done.

Looks really good on the 17's with the lowering springs - much more agile. A bit like the Mk5 Golf GTI which I also thought looked better on the smaller wheels.
Cheers! It rides well on the 17's but I found it handled better on the 18's I had as loan wheels while the 17's were being refurbed so the VW Racing wheels I have are light weight 18's for summer use and the 17's are my winter wheels now.

Quick update.

I had my car detailed by Russ at Midland Car Care last weekend and had my winter wheels and tyres changed over to my summer wheels and tyres.

I took a few pictures which I've included below but you'll have to forgive them as I didn't realise until after that the settings on my camera were all to pot. (These are still with the winter set up on)

Haven't really had chance to get some decent pictures with the summer set up on yet so there are just a quick couple below:-

I had one of these from new, leather, nav etc. Nice to drive nice place to sit.

However the 1.4tsi engine totally expired after 12,000 properly serviced miles. That was a standard engine. I would not trust another, and i certainly wouldnt trust a highly tuned one!
So far I've never had any problems with mine in the 3 and a bit years I've owned it. I know there are some horror stories around about the 1.4 but, with the sciroccos at least, it seems to be relatively rare for them to have major problems.
