Ford Fiesta RS Turbo
Discussion
I thought I would make a new thread for my FRST.
Bought it earlier this year and I was using it as my daily driver for quite a while. Unfortunately it has now developed a problem, which I have yet to diagnose. I have tried the TPS and IACV but need to test out a new MAP sensor. MOT has now run out though.
Needs to be sold but I think I will leave it on the drive for a while until I have spare cash to get it on the road.
It's pretty standard, just got Compomotive wheels, Hi-Spec front calipers, exhaust and Pace fmic. It is in fantastic condition though, having had a bit of a restoration a few years ago.
Anyway, here's a few pics...
Thanks for looking!

I have a link to the build thread - http://passionford.com/forum/restorations-rebuilds... - but unfortunately the pics have expired. I do have a print out of it with pics though.
It had a respray but this was done with the archs/skirts on. The only bit of rust I have found is a tiny amount under 1 rear arch

Thanks for the comments everyone...makes me want to keep it. Whenever I go to local meets it gets plenty of attention as well.
The only reason I have considered selling it is because of my debt situation. Might decide to keep it if my ppi claims come through with decent amounts.
Would like a t3 conversion too, I was always a little disappointed with the performance of it. Maybe its because the last fiesta I had was an RS1800 with a 2.0 zetec Turbo running a t34.63, though

Love this, don't see many mk3's about these days. How much do these go for? Can't decide wether I'd have one or a mk2 xr2
At times I've looked, they seem to vary from £2000 to £5000. I had mine advertised in the middle a while ago, but no interest at that price.Just been offered £1500 last night though...definitely not enough to get my interest, it owes me double that. But that was as it is, off the road
So, the Fiesta has been sat on my parents drive since before I even started this thread. Mainly due to me not prioritising my disposable cash towards sorting it and I have shared use of my girlfriend's car.
Finally, I've taken a step in the right direction and a friend is transporting it to my house on a flatbed today. This means I can give her a good clean up and start to investigate the problem, although will need a new battery in the next few days to start her up.
Just need to clean out the garage now so can I keep her clean and safe!

I must be the only one on the thread who doesn't like the wheels. I do like quick Fords that escaped chaving though, nice one OP
I'm surprised I haven't had more dislike for them to be honest, I thought they'd be a bit marmite but it looks like you're on your own!Bought a battery this morning only to st myself when connecting it as the alarm went off while my head was under the bonnet!!
Started her up, no hesitation and idled well. Very surprising!
Oddly, the problem that was present last time she was running seems to have healed itself One less thing to sort at least
It's a little smokey on the overrun after giving it a few revs...it randomly started this after a 50 mile trip when it was on the road. Needs a bit of investigation.
Took it down my road, as it's just a close and it went better than expected, although the brakes need a lot more use.
All in all, I'm very happy that things are moving along with it.
Spent a few hours this weekend cleaning, polishing and waxing, between the decorating I've been ordered to do by swmbo
I still need to get the wheels off to clean around and I need to wipe down the door shuts, engine bay and interior. I'm probably going to pop the rear windows out too as the seals are grimy.
Looking much better...
And crappy beading pic
Just needs an MOT as soon as I can. Definitely needs a set of tyres to see it through.
Not so sure I can sell it now though

Spent another hour or so today waxing and cleaning
Wheels off, before shot. You can see the deep cracks in the sidewalls but I need new tyres all round anyway
After. No proper cleaning products and the condition isn't all that great on the inside.
New discs and pads are going to be needed
Sootie was having a good nosy round the car
And just a couple more of the car

Thanks. It's been confirmed MOT will be £220 in total. I'm very happy with that.
The locking filler cap seized a bit and I just picked up a temp one from a petrol station.
The question now is do I spend another £220 to tax it and pay the insurance deposit....if I pay tax online normally I just drive until I receive the tax disc in post, is this ok to do?

Well done, £220 is a good pass I would say, my last mot was £600. AFAIK you can drive from as soon as you have paid for the tax, it's updated on the databases (a.n.p.r etc) straight away. At least how I roll!
Well that's good because I've already sorted it and been out for a drive...I just couldn't resist. Love it although it's not quick enough! Gassing Station | Readers' Cars | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
