Honda Integra Type R DC2
Discussion
Hi all,
I have been lurking around these forums for a while and thought it was about time I said Hello and posted a build thread of my ITR DC2.
Apologies in advance for the large number of pictures and writing, I have owned the car for nearly 4 years and tried to document as much as I could.
I purchased it on 135k and it's now on 160k and still going strong!
I'll go through the whole story and try to keep it as short as possible, I am also sure I will forget to add something.

Unfortunately an uninsured driver decided he didn't like the UKDM front and I had to have the front repaired! So it changed to a non fog light bumper
I decided it was time to make some progress on the car and had the following fitted/changed:
-Miester R Zeta S coilovers
-HEL braided lines along with brembo blanks and Ferodo DS2500 pads
-98spec alloys and steering wheel along with JDM indicators
-Rocker cover replaced by Spooner
-96spec mani with Mugen B pipe and twin loop
-new badges all around
-lots of new bolts and fittings to replace rusted items
-cambelt and all bushes changed by TGM, along with valve clearances and a full service
Here was the results after this:

Then came the bad moment that all DC2 owners have when they check their rear arches for rust.... Unfortunately mine where shot and needed replacing on both sides so I booked it in to TGM to get it done

As you can see I purchased some USDM ambers from America, think it looks a lot better with them on.
Now, I recently purchased a few bits to bring the interior up to the spec that I wanted.
This included:
- New cigarette lighter as the print was damaged on mine.
- Red sticted gear gator
- JDM mats
- Spoon wide angle mirror
- Spoon rear strut brace
I also removed the Honda badge at the rear of the car and purchased some spare rear strut covers so I could cut them up and use some rubber around the edges so the rear brace looks OEM.
Some pictures of the install process are below, I also fully detailed the car and re-applied some Dodo Juice wax.

Thanks mate! I was thinking of moving over to a DC5 last year but decided to stick with the 2 for the time being Had much done to your DC5? Thanks for the comments guys!
You ever thought about getting another yonex?
I also just picked up a set of rare Enkei NT03's (16x7JJ 5x114.3 +43). But they need some work as oil has been spilt on them and they are not champ white.
I will get some semi slicks for them and possibly change the colour to something like bronze but not too sure? I plan to leave my OEM 15" and JDM 16" wheels white but wasn't too sure on what colour to do these.
Any thoughts on what will look good?
Cheers,
James

Thank you! They are amazing cars, can't ever see me selling this!
Just a quick update, I ended up doing a 6 hour round trip to pick up the Enkei's on Sunday and test fitted them today.
I have big plans for the wheels and they need a lot of work but should look amazing once done!

Looks fantastic on the NT03s!
Thank you mate! Ah, it's just me who is late to the party haha Sound's good, I bet you can't wait to take it out after the oil change! Some day we'll have to do a photoshoot for saved JDM/UKDM tegs Looks fantastic on the NT03s!

I'm down for that. Down Essex way 22nd September for a trackday at Snett if you're about!
I'm well on that mate, have you booked the session already? It's about a 2 hour drive for me but I don't work Monday's so could work A quick update about the wheels. They are now on and the car is setup how I want it, they do look better in person so hope the pictures capture it ok
The tyres are unreal compared to the Toyo's, it's going to take some getting used to but really enjoying them so far.
I had the tracking done today as it was way out and pulling to the left, also painted my calipers soft silver as the gold on gold wasn't a good look.
I need a new steering gator as I noticed mine has a small tear but will replace that shortly!

is it your daily? if so, how is it to live with?
Good choice of car to hunt for! It is at the moment, but I have access to a Jazz and Yaris that I will most likely use over Winter and garage the Teg this year. But I have been using it all year round for about 3 years with no issues other than my own OCD making sure it's clean and it doesn't get damaged. is it your daily? if so, how is it to live with?

Just a quick update about the car, it's now off the road and I have a little 1.0 Yaris to travel around in over winter!
I have managed to pick up a Gen2 Mugen intake from Hoho (Thanks again mate!) and started cleaning up the OEM intake and buying the bolts ect so I can install it tomorrow.
I'll let the pictures do the talking but I should have a MK1 AEM long arm intake up for sale soon!

No real updates for the car, other than it's off the road for winter and tucked up under a car cover on my drive The only down side is I am using a 1.0ltr Yaris for the daily duties haha
I'll also be going Nurburgring from the 4th to the 10th of June this year, which I can't wait for!
I will be joining the Audi sport forum for a rolling road in April at AMD performance.
Looking to get a new manifold before the rolling road and was thinking the Tegiwa Toda rep? Any opinions from people who have switched from a 96spec manifold?
Also, two random pictures I took last year that I liked

Thank you so much for all the comments guys, really does mean a lot after putting in so much effort over the years!
Regarding why it's so clean in the pictures, my second love after driving is detailing so it's regularly cleaned and waxed even when it was being used daily. My neighbours think I am mad but I really enjoy it!
Those pictures were after a 3 hour 'spirited' drive
Just a quick update regarding the car, I have a rolling road booked for April and Nurburgring in June and I needed a new manifold!
After lots of reading about which one to get, I ended up getting the Tegiwa TODA V2 replica as the original is the best manifold for a B series.

It won't be fitted for a while yet as I have a few work related exams coming up, and I have a few jobs to do to the car before it's ready!
- Clean Mugen filter.
- Remove wheels and adjust coilovers as front passenger side is a few MM higher.
- Full alignment.
It'll then go to TGM for a service and install the manifold and maybe fit a de-cat I have laying around!
Thanks again for taking the time to read,
James

Hey Guys,
Thought I would post a quick update, the manifold is now fitted along with a new set of front drop links and also had the tracking done.
The manifold feels a lot better than the 96spec, but I haven't had a chance to go for a long drive due to work!

Just a quick update on the DC2, I traveled up to see Micky to pick up a pristine UKDM bonnet from him. I managed 342 miles on one tank so very happy with that! Also put the 98spec alloys on for the trip, with Nurburgring coming up I didn't want to put the miles on the semi slicks.

Hey Guys,
Just a quick update on this as I have been meaning to post about my trip to the Nurburgring in June, but still need to finish off the pictures/video so will post a full write up shortly! It was the trip of a lifetime and will be going back next year for sure!

Thanks a lot for the kind comments guys, they are fantastic out of the box and always puts a smile my face after all these years.
I ended up getting my badge directly from Honda, I think it was £37 delivered? They do look and last a lot better though!
I thought I would update this thread as it's been a long time since I updated and I've now owned the car for 6 years.
Since posting, the car has been fully re-bushed with the full Spoon sports kit, and it made a massive difference to way the car behaves, I went on another Nurburgring trip shortly after getting it done and the turn in speed was scary!

It's been quite a while since I updated this, but I still have the CL7 and DC2 so thought I would post some pictures up!
Lots of minor changes, but generally just been enjoying them both as much as possible.
I recently upgraded the Euro R with a Gruppe M intake and it's made such a difference low down in the rev range!

And some during a Nurburgring/Spa trips in 2018 & 2019!

I also picked up a Mugen steering wheel and Spoon boss, but will try and get some better pictures for post up.
Thanks for looking!
