Just a quick post to welcome my Impreza to the pistonheads world, after getting rid of my modified focus ST. The car is completely standard apart from a de-resonated centre section to give a bit more of the famous Subaru rumble, I am tempted to add a cobra back box as well as its still a little quite from the exhaust when your up the revs.
Cheers for looking!

I remember the 1st time I've ever saw one back in the day, I though "Wow ! Bloody hell !", yours give the same thoughts.
Cheers mate, I feel the same everytime I go to get in it... Such a physical thing to drive as well you really have to muscle it a bit to get the most out of it!Butter Face said:
Looks ace! A bloke I know had one of the very first, they're cracking!!
Yeah I agree still such bood proportions as well everything is just right about it... It has that thing of looking just like a rally car that all blokes hanker for when they see a car like it as well... That my girlfriend doesn't share haha It's number 206 should anyone be interested also :-)
You could say a C63 AMG is just a C class with some AMG bits on, the WR1 is on different suspension set up entirely different wheels, different engine tune, it had DCCD before any other UK cars as well which was pretty massive on its own and it completely changed the understeering nature of the standard STi as I understand it... The colour was obviously the main thing that made it stand out but there are a lot of other differences too... I certainly think it justifies its 'special' status anyways.
Personally I think the bulges look much more pronounced in this colour as well :-) certainly all personal how you feel about them and I can see why many people don't like them as it is pretty 'look at me' but I love it and I certainly don't think it's similar to the A45 AMG as awesome as they are they are a bit more numb I think, probably a bit safer handling wise...I would certainly love one though haha!

Looks like Ribble Head Viaduct, last time I was there was 38 years ago, driving a Dolomite Sprint. Drum roll, that looks epic OP, a lot of love for it, enjoy!
It is you are very correct that road headed for hawes is probably my favourite local ish road it's awesome and the views are pretty epic. Thanks, I am doing my level best to enjoy every minute! Well just ordered a cobra back box to go with the de-res centre section to bring out a bit more noise but hopefully not too much, at the moment the exhaust noise disappears completely once on boost so I just want to address that... Didn't want anything too loud like blitz nur spec etc... Will get some pictures and video when it's on!
Just had the cat back fitted and it looks nice and subtle just as I hoped with slightly more 'scooby' boxer rumble but no drone whatsoever inside the car at any speed.
Not really too much of a fan of the jap cannon looking exhausts so this suits my taste nicely, I will get some video of it at some point in the next few days.

The car went in for a service and bad BC coilovers fitted with the extended rear adjusters as well which look smart and allow adjustment on the back end very easily, I haven't gone for a drastic change in ride height it's just about 10mm lower at the front and maybe 15mm lower at the back giving much more level stance. The car is actually more complaint now than it was on the standard dampers which were sticking slightly (common fault on all imprezas this age and newer) but it also corners much flatter and resists under steer much more than it did before, all work carried out at cotton competition to a very high standard.
A few pics:
I will get some better pictures in the coming days but I am very happy so far!
Cheers,
Carl

It was on it when I got it but it could well be!
It looks and goes awesome now so I am pretty happy with it now, I can't believe how not harsh the suspension is when listening to some people saying that they hate there's and it's too harsh etc I can only assume they have it set too low and with too much damping stiffness!

A couple more mods carried out, K&N typhoon induction fitted which sounds absolutely epic!
And also de-badged the back end for a cleaner look
All done for a little while I think, I wouldn't mind fitting a 100cel downpipe and having a remap but it's getting to where I want it now really for the time being at least!
Cheers,
