I paid 4k for the car a couple of years ago and have spent about the same on it since. It had no rust when I got it the previous owner had sorted that out so I had a complete respray in the original colour and a full new leather interior including the dash headlining rear bulkhead door panels seats etc and carpets. It drives great and is surprisingly comfortable a lot better than my old X19 I had. I even have the air con working there can't be many Montes that still do left on the road. Like most classics they gave crept up on price several now around 20k with one just going up on classic car website at 39k....I can't see that one selling fast!

I will put the reg up for sale once the new Lambo SUV is out someone might be interested, got to be worth a try!

Tbh I was lucky I never went to inspect the car but after emails pics and speaking to the guy who owned it I could tell he was a real enthusiast so I took a gamble and had it transported to me. It was exactly how he described it he had done the cills and around the screen plus new brake servo and an engine rebuild. Full history folder 62k miles that is genuine with all the old MOTs all it needed was cosmetics and it now looks better than new inside and like new outside. I dont use it much but when I do it puts a smile on my face every time and people seem to love it when it's parked up. A lot better car than it was ever given credit for but rust free one's are few and far between nowadays and the good ones are all proper money the cheap good cars are now no more. On saying that good MGBs and GTs are at the same price (even rubber bumper models) I've had several over the years and there is no comparison.
