Another Golf. MK5 GTi Pirelli.
Discussion
The Forester STi sold to another PH'er the other month and i had been looking for another classic JDM STi. Had one lined up but couldn't wait much longer for it. Was browsing the PH classifieds and saw this pop up. Was the right spec for me - low miles, low owners, full sh, all receipts, right mods and a private sale. Couple of messages later, train booked to Southampton and collected the other weekend.
Anyway, spec is as follows :
2009 GTi Pirelli Edition.
3 door DSG.
Revo Stage 2.
Revo DSG map.
Full Milltek system.
Wavetrac LSD.
TTRS front arms.
S3 brakes.
S3 intercooler.
Polybushed engine and gearbox mounts.
4 spare BBS VZ033 wheels.
Few other bits and bobs.
As expected, drives absolutely brilliantly. With over 330bhp and the uprated LSD, the handling for a FWD hatch is amazing. Was a little shocked first time i got it home and went for a quick run out
Few little jobs to sort out to make it "as new" again. Booked in for a little paint work to the bonnet and front bumper in 2 weeks time, then will rectify all the little marks with a full detail after that. Had a deep clean and mini detail this past week. The BBS will be sent off next week to be done a little darker, the S3 discs will probably be swapped out for some vagbremtechnic j-hooks or Clubsport ones.
Will update once back from paint and any other changes.

Very nice. Looks like a good one. vw only made 222 of them so I don't think you'll lose much value.
They are great cars aren't they? I have a Edition 30 only in standard tune mind, it plenty quick enough for me.
Enjoy.
Read somewhere that there was only 71 silver ones and out of them, only 21 with DSG. Paid quite a bit for it but will be put away in the garage and just used in nice weather. Have a daily and another car to use. They are great cars aren't they? I have a Edition 30 only in standard tune mind, it plenty quick enough for me.

Just waiting for an RNS 510 and a few other bits. Got a set of oem BBS centre caps with carbon/yellow script for when the VZ's come back.

Stunning car and a cracking spec. Seems to have certainly been looked after by it's previous owner(s)!
I do love those seats aswell. These and the ED30 models are the ones to go for. Any further plans for it?
Just to sort the front end chips out for now. Might look into a TTE420 turbo next year but it's fine for now. Get the spare wheels sorted and enjoy.I do love those seats aswell. These and the ED30 models are the ones to go for. Any further plans for it?
Wheels just back tonight. Another perfect job done by - www.wheelrite.co.uk

Back off holiday now, car collected from the paint shop. Really happy with the results. Had the bonnet, front bumper and top of the wings done and also the rear bumber. New oem front grill, lower grill, both fog light covers and just waiting for the new plates to be delivered. Just given it a quick seal now and put back away in the garage. Feels like having a brand new Mk5 GTi all over again

Very nice, refurbed wheels look like a top job and spot on, colour wise. Lovely car!

Came out perfect. As good as a factory finish. Might have made a schoolboy error with the valves though. Just tried them now and too wide to fit. Never checked the width before buying them. Looks like i need another set of BBS valves (caps will be ok). Jonesy

Very nice touch!
Will be right once fitted. Tyres just landed this afternoon. Had been searching for a set of original Pilot Super Sports but no one could source a set. After a few searches i came accross the PS91's on the MPower forum in the USA where a few owners had switched from MPSS to the Kumho's and seem to have decent reviews. Tread pattern very similar too. Not badly priced either at £70 each, landed. Pretty stiff sidewall which should work well with the suspension and diff. Only a toy/dry weather car anyway so will see how they compare to the MPS4's that are on the original wheels.Podie said:
How can you not fit Pirellis?
They're pretty st though. I'll probably run the BBS on for a while, remove the MP4's from the Pirelli wheels, then maybe look to refurb the oem wheels back to standard with a set of factory fit tyres. Keep the MP4's as a spare set in the loft.Edited by MDMA . on Friday 21st September 10:47
Thanks Ash. I did see it first time for sale when you had it but still had the FSTi. Would have taken it complete, as it was. Never mind.
As per PM, plan is to get it back to mint, unmarked condition, probably go back to a good 4/6pot brake set-up (S3 discs and calipers are a little heavy), then look to a decent turbo for a solid 350bhp.

You have a nice selection of cars in the garage ??. I hope you don’t my me asking. If and when you decide to sell do approach me please. Always wanted a nice MK5 gti.
No problem. Previous car went to another PH member. Might be a few years yet before this one goes. But I'll keep it updated either way.

Lovely car. Just found your thread as you recommended a paint shop in Wigan.
We’ve just picked up a 135i coupe that needs a bit of perfecting. Would you still recommend the place in Wigan?

Yes, Mike is good but very busy so might need to wait a while if you do go there. Some more pics after paint. Had the full front end painted, new front upper and lower grille, new fog light covers and rear bumper painted. Perfect match to the factory Reflex Silver and not too expensive either.
