Yep, kinda had to be, they look alot better than the standard 16" that they come with. I even chose to have a sunroof, which really suits it and was great to have as it was a smashing day up here today.

my mum has the 1.4 design. very easy to drive cars and a vast improvement on the old Corsa in terms of quality. The only thing that annoys me is the shiny black part on the dash with reflects in the windscreen. Yours is the SXI though, so I don't know whether the silver does that.
That would be one fault, but with such a big windscreen, I don't really notice it.

Not too keen on them.

Any examples of them fitted to a car?

Driven quite a few different new Corsa's myself (don't ask), and I haven't had any issues with the brakes at all. In fact I'm thoroughly impressed with the brakes, there actually excellant.

Hi ITB.

What spec is your Corsa? My other half is looking to buy one and is set on a 1.4 SXi but a few reports I have seen suggest that the 1.4 is a bit sluggish and that the ride is a bit jiggly. She is not too worried about the ride but is about the perfomance. She currently drives a 1.5 (105) Megane dci and thinks this is sluggish but the performance times I have seen suggest that the Corsa is slower (0-60 anyway). I don't think she'll she much difference as being a petrol it'll seem a bit quicker off the mark than a diesel.

Any thoughts?
Hi Humpy (immature giggle)

Mine is the 1.4 SXI. The engine is 60PS or 90bhp, it is nippy enough around town, but through 1st and 2nd it is a bit lethargic. I recently took it up to the Scottish Highlands, through all the narrow roads right up at the top and it was a hoot, engine more than coped with overtaking. IF you don't mind a diesel, try a 1.3 Cdti (make sure that its the 60PS version) as it's a cracking engine, bit weedy low down, but flies when the turbo kicks in, will sit at 0.75 leptons no problem.

The ride is a bit jiggly, but only at lower speeds (this is worsened by the fact I went for the 17" alloys). Get it up to speed on normal roads and it seems to be better. Handling is excellent, but make sure that your tyres are inflated to what the handbook says to make it even better.

The interior of the car is huge, rivals even the bigger Astra for space, but because of the big interior your boot is smaller, made even smaller by the split level boot, but it is handy. The dash is nice, the dials are easy to read. I may say that the steering wheel is a bit on the big side, but it is skinny so you can get a good grip to give it the beans in the corner.

I think the Corsa looks better than any of the rivals (Fiesta looks old, Clio is meh, 207 is ugly, Swift is Ok, but it's still a suzuki.

If you've got any other questions, give us a shoutwink

HTH

Just to add - the split level boot - you can remove the shelf, so that isn't a problem and it fits ok on the rear parcel shelf if you need to remove it whilst you're out and you have passengers in the back.
Yes but it's easier to keep it in the boot.

And what is wrong with Humpy D????

The test drive - very impressed apart from the engine. Didn't seem to have a lot of go in it and we kept thinking we were in a gear lower than the one we were actually in (i.e. thougt we were in 3rd but was in 4th).

We have ordered a Corsa but a 1.7cdti. No dealer could get one for us to test but the performance stats seem a lot better (0-60 in 9.3 vs 11.8).

Delivery in a couple weeks hopefully.

Humpy D (titter, titter).
If it was a quite new 1.4 then yeah that's what its like for a start. The 1.7 is a great engine, was it a SXI, what other spec did you go for?

I love these new Corsas. I think they look fantastic with the XP on them and with the 17" alloys (this makes the car compared to the 16" alloys)
Great drive, well built, modern looking inside and out.
Only quip is the petrol engines. Bar the VXR, the petrol engines are rubbish. Asthmatic, no go, all whiz and no pull. The 1.7CDTI is the only way to go. 125BHP moves very well and can easily be mapped to 150BHP.
See I don't agree with the gutless petrol engines, mine is perky enough, pulls well uphill, gusty enough to over take and takes me up to 0.9 leptons no problem have had 1 lepton out of it. I will admit that in 1st and 2nd there aint much power, but through 3rd and 4th the power comes in.
