What nation's that from?
Northern Ireland.

It's not a 'private' plate at all, they're commonly known as pikey / mick plates are are often used by people as 'ageless' plates.

They're cheap as chips - can pick them up for under £100 and are just a little bit pikey, really.

(And yes, I have one myself, as the car came from NI and I really can't be arsed swapping it)
It's still a private plate - as I selected it and bought it for myself.

And I'd be VERY surprised if you can find an NI plate with 3 letters and 2 numbers for less than £800...

What I would call a pikey plate would be one where fixing screws have been strategically placed to make the plate spell out a name. Or where illegal spacing and an illegal font has been used to make the plate look like a European plate...

I didn't pay for my plate. It was on the car when I bought it.
Fair enough. Around here you'd have been pulled over for that plate! But I'm guessing the 75 isn't your daily driver?

There must be some real mugs around if mick bog standard mick plates can fetch £800.....
The fact that it's a short dateless plate is what makes it worth something. It's not bog standard - the bog standard NI ones have three letters and four numbers. But even those fetch good money for the right letter combinations.

Here's a few similar ones to mine currently on the market :

SXI 14 - £2,576 inclusive
SXI 40 - £2,195 inclusive
SXI 26 - £1,926 inclusive

Mine was under £1k inclusive. Which makes it a bit of an investment (not why I bought it, but it is a nice afterthought).

You should be aware that your one is worth a bit as well, should you ever feel like selling the Alfa...

Nice, however you need a smaller front plate, it should just fill the number plate recess like this one does smile
Would be nice, but surely that font size is not legal? I don't want to get pulled over... my plate is a standard size.
