An Introduction plus next car purchase help
Discussion
Hi All,
First of all an introduction, my names Chris and i currently drive a Punto 1.2 elx. Its my first car (I passed last year so now have just gained my first years NCB @ 21). I have been saving the pennies for a few years and would like to purchase my next car with a budget of around £5-6k, this doesn't cover insurance etc which i will factor in seperatly. I would like to choose something a bit different (I am useless with the spanners so something half reliable would be ideal) . My requirements would be something which is not to difficult to handle around town (this makes up about 75% of my driving) but not something which will struggle on motorways. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
I don't mod cars either so a bog standard car would be preferred.
P.S. i kbnow that the format of this thread has been done to death so apologies if it gets a bit boring.
Thanks,
Chris.

Have you considered a diesel Audi A3? I bought mine about two months ago and absolutely love it..
I was concidering an Audi but to land a decent model (I'd rather not have the 1.9 with 105PS) would cost more than i can really afford to spend. What do people think of the Toyota Celica T Sport?

EVO magazine had a celica t-sport as a long termer and they quite liked it. I was tempted by one of these at one point too as the insurance isn't too bad given the performance. Should be reliable as well.

I read that review last night and having got an insurance quote of around £1500 fully comp - it looked quite promising - i'll kep my eyes peeled and save up a bit more to hopefully find a nice example.EVO magazine test links
Thanks,
Chris.
