jaguar xtype-poor seats and pedals?

A friend has just bought a new x-type. He has size 10 feet and finds that he frequently hits two pedals at once. I have sat in the car and the pedal spacing in manual versions is not good.
He also finds that the seat is very uncomfortable on anything other than a short run. Having sat in the vehicle the seat squab gives no support under the thigh and no adjustment is possible.{unless you specify the eight way adjustable electric seats.}
Has anyone else experienced/heard of this problem?
