Well, I had the S40 up for sale for a while and also had it on the Swapz website where I received a few interesting offers.

One of which was a road legal quad, but not exactly something I want or need atm. a rather nice Vecturd Estate was on offers, but I've just come from one of those so wanted something different.

Another was a track prepped, road legal Fiesta XR2 with 1800 Zetec conversion, big brakes, 2 litre cams and RS Turbo ECU and fuel management whatsits...but needed a whole panel replacing on the fuel cap side frown

Then I was offered a 1990 Eunos Roadster...

Ok I know it's not practical, but I couldn't help but be intrigued at the proposition, even if to sell on.

Low and behold, I've now got it and I think I might keep it biggrin

It was subject to a cat c in 2005, but VOSA Vic checked and is in straight order at the moment. The previous owner didn't tell me so was a bit annoyed

It has an oil leak which my friends Snotrag thinks he's sussed as a common problem, so hoping to have that fettled this week.

Bootlid is manky, needs respraying, paint a bit st in places, but mechanically sound and plenty of T&T

anywho, here she is as she stands:

If it proves to be realiable, I might even throw some money at it on a couple of little tweaks and alterations biggrin

All in all, not bad considering I've only got £300 in the old girl rofl

Superb! I'm on my 2nd one myself... couple of months and you'll be wanting more power biggrin
aye, quite possibly!

If I can get this business off the ground and start earning and find my way into a position where I can have a second vehicle, then I'll keep it for a good while and do some work on it!

£300?! yikes

You'll spend almost that insuring it (if not more)!

What you will also need to spend money on is a steering wheel.

That one is hurl

Other than that, it's a bloody bargain.
I had £300 in the Volvo and the guy did a straight swap!

The steering wheel isn't the best, but it does for now

Insurance was £380 Fully comp from NFU mutual - 10k per year, only £60 more than the S40!

NFU Mutual is pretty damn good eh?

I've been a named driver on several policies with them with my dad as main driver. No NCB on paper, but when I took insurance out with them on the Volvo, due to the clean record, they gave me the equivilent of 5 years NCB protected yikes

They've always done us a good rate smile

First few days I had it, it got ragged about mercilessly and returned 26mpg

I can get it lower, but 26 isn't bad for mainly town driving..better than the Volvo already!

Can't beat a bit of topless motoring thumbup

Lovely day today.
It's been a lovely couple of days for it. Saturday I had the roof off, basking in glorious sunshine and drove through the countryside to Ilkley for a massage then back again!

Amazing!

Not planning on going anywhere today like, waiting for the CAS O ring to arrive

Quick update:

Well it would seem my little 5 has had a couple of modifications, the one I'm most pleased with is the relocation of the foglamp which has been moved to the reverse light biggrin

Other than that, my mate Jason and I changed the cam angle sensor O ring the other day, bit of a fiddly job, but the old one was royally bksed so it was for the best.

Now it seems I have another oil leak somewhere so it's going on the ramps tomorrow so we can have a scoot about and see if we can locate the little bugger.

Work on fixing and improving will be on going thumbup

Had any luck with the ladies in a new motor and that?! wink
I have had a lot of looks like

I seem to get asians and women trying to race me everywhere which is amusing.

Had a group of asian lads chatting to me at the lights the other week, had the roof down around midnight (lovely night) and they said "You had a good day mate? Aren't you cold" hehe

Got plenty of work I wanna do on it and I'm really happy to do it so should be a few updates smile
