Lovely cars.
Keep looking at 944s to use as a track car.
One question, though - why do nearly all 944s I see have Mick plates on them?

If you want a track car get an early one, much more fun to drive
The gold one, Pixie, had it since 1995, the black one since the year 2000 if I remember rightly from the history.

What makes the early cars better?
Much sharper to drive. The later cars are not sports cars or GTs IMHO but the early cars - WOW what fun The late cars feel a bit too soft. The early cars feel more special once ou're behind the wheel looking at the three instrument pods and feel more of a classic car for a start. Theres more transmission noise and more of an occassion when you drive it, the late cars are a bit too detached in my opinion.
The gear change is a little better, more precise in my opinion. I have drove numerous later cars so know it's not just the two I've had
On the steering wheel, I do have the original and initially I was going to change it back but it's lovely to hold so I may well stick with the one it's got!
All Porsches seem to go through a lot of plate changes. Both of my 944s where bought from previous owners who had them a long time (10+ years) and neither where bought from a council estate, thanks.
