Value in the 991 range
Discussion
I have been playing around on the configurator. It strikes me that, if you are able to keep the options fairly light, the base Carrera is pretty good value relative to the S and the GTS. Sure, it is slower, but the 3.4 is a pretty nice engine.
For example, £80k list price for this:

(I know, I know, I added mahogany...but I think it looks quite nice... )
I think that £80k for that compares pretty well to £100-110k for a GTS.
And it compares very well to the 2nd hand prices for S and GTS 991s (and even, to be frank, the 997 GTS prices).

True. I did notice that and think 'Hmmm. Not quite right', but black leather with a dark blue exterior is pretty boring.
So many Porsches are 'Resale white/black/grey'. One of the reasons that I have started looking for a cheap 991 is that the range of colours available in the 2nd hand market is so awful, especially once you narrow it down to manual cars.
Anyway, the important point is that £80k (once haggled down) is a very good price.

Mines white with black interior too. lol. So many Porsches are 'Resale white/black/grey'. One of the reasons that I have started looking for a cheap 991 is that the range of colours available in the 2nd hand market is so awful, especially once you narrow it down to manual cars.

You can haggle a base 911 down now?.
Not a 991 but why not spec it up like this? Going to a hell of a salesman that shifts this one!

need every help when comes to resale with beige leather, mahogany trim and bucket seats. WTF????
And a manual box...So, you are looking for a keen driver (buckets and manual) desiring a beige leather interior and mahogany, in the base model car.
That's a fairly slim market.
Have to admit I'd be tempted by one of these. Last chance before the turbo's. There's bound to be a worthwhile discount on a stock car. Though chances of finding a manual would be slim.
Belfast opc have a decent 14 car.
I'm fortunate enough to have a gt4 coming, beside that it looks expensive! I'm wondering if I should be less selfish & have the extra seats for more family days out!

Old school! Beige leather is at least not black. Porsches are soooooo dark inside. So, you are looking for a keen driver (buckets and manual) desiring a beige leather interior and mahogany, in the base model car.

I wouldn't actually buy the mahogany, but it is prettier to my eye than the carbon or aluminium tat (which looks exactly like the crap in an Audi or BMW).
I quite like Cmoose's spec.
I stil like the dark blue (it looks better in real life, also on Boxsters), so nob off on that one! Red and yellow also look good.
This'd be my sub-£80K car:

I'd then try and find / order a set the -20mm springs that you just know are the only difference between PASM and PASM Sports so I didn't have to have the other gubbins that comes if you try and tick the PASM Sport box

According to the chap at the OPC today, there are 2 manual cars that might be available pre-reg. 2! Any bets on them being black or white and having PASM and all that junk? I'm looking at 997s again
