The local section of TIPEC (The Independent Porsche Enthusiasts Club)are holding their summer BBQ on Wednesday 26th July at The Crooked Billet pub which is on the A41 halfway between Bicester and Aylesbury. All are welcome, no need to pre-book. Location map etc is on www.crookedbillet.com We normally get around 30 Porsche's of all variations, although we may well get a lot more for this event. The BBQ costs £8 for adults and £4.50 for children and this includes all the meat (kebabs, lamb chops etc) plus salad, pasta, cous cous etc Don't worry if the weather is bad as the decking area has a canopy. We will also be holding a very informal "car park concours" just to give us an excuse to drool over the machinery on display in the very large car park. Our club is very welcoming unlike other clubs so please come along, enjoy a good meal and talk about Porsche's for the evening, what could be better?

People will start arriving from 6.30pm, food will be going from 7.00pm until 9.00pm approximately, people start to head home around 10.30pm. You'd be made very welcome

I'd love to come, but 6.30pm on a mid-week day is just a no-no. Sorry.

Have a good bash tho'.

Nice pub that - been there a few times - however, living in Dubai probably means I won't be able to make...

...and I don't have a Porsche.

I went to a TIPEC evening once. Mine was the only air cooled car there and I had the feeling that I was an unwelcome alien visitor. Mind you, it could be my 2nd head and the antenna that did it. Anyway, after that, I never went back. Thought I'd just share.

o/t nice profile pic

I have been to a few of these tipec things now and i've found there's none of the elitism associated with PCGB (puts flameproof suit on) and that everyone was really friendly.

Don't worry about the 6.30pm start, lots won't arrive until 7.30 or 8.00, it just depends on peoples work commitments etc.

Yes it's on Porsche-1.net, but all are very welcome not just TIPEC members

On a typical club night we get around 30 cars, typically around 6 944's, 6 928's, 10 911's, 6 Boxsters and a couple of 924's, but this fluctuates month by month

Again all are invited and would be made to feel welcome

The weather forecast for Wednesday is 32 degrees... Should make for a wonderful evening of chat and drooling over the 35+ Porsches in the car park. All are welcome to come along.

That would be great.

I've had a reply from Chris Horton, features editor for 911 & Porsche World, saying that he hopes to be along, complete with his camera....So get that car polish out!

Geoff,

Are 'rug rats' acceptable at these outings; if so how many and what's the general age range?

Cheers ,

Deano

Rug rats, ankle biters, all are welcome.

The BBQ is £8 for adults and £4.50 for kids, this includes all the salads, pasta, cous-cous etc

Age range is enormous. If your children are very young the garden is the best place as it is fenced off. If they are bigger there is a large adjoining field. If it rains we have our own function room and bar, so the venue is ideal for all age groups.

The pub are cooking for 100 people as we are expecting around 35-40 Porsches in the car park (it keeps getting bigger)

Would be great to see you there

Thanks guys, it was great to see over 40 Porsches in one pub car park and almost 100 people enjoying a natter.

Next club night is on Wednesday 23rd August, where we will be setting out insmall groups to tour BS Motorsport, the endurance Porsche race specialists. As usual all are welcome
