I'm selling mine for the opposite reason - I don't get to drive it fast enough!
(Plus my house is filling up with water and I need to spend some money to put a stop to that).
Having it detailed on Monday, and looking forward to driving it and it looking perfect.
I noticed it in the ads a couple of days ago. Do you think we'll see you in number 4 soon?(Plus my house is filling up with water and I need to spend some money to put a stop to that).

Good luck with that. I'm going to sleep on mine over the weekend.

Overtakes on double whites is giving away points when it could be easily avoided.
Virtually any car will exceed speed limits, but you can still break traffic laws just as easily in a knackered old banger as being in a fast Porsche, Ferrari etc.
In hindsight I'll be the first to admit it was a stupid thing to do. At the time it was a totally safe manouvre but if I'd known I was going to pull out in perfect syncronicity to a traffic officer handily waiting in a lay-by I would have remained behind Mr.Slow Virtually any car will exceed speed limits, but you can still break traffic laws just as easily in a knackered old banger as being in a fast Porsche, Ferrari etc.
Again you're totally right about being able to lose your license in any car but I maintain that it's much more likely in something which begs to be driven (like a Porsche) than in many other cars. The Spyder just feels like a coiled spring most of the time

I think it ruins the car, hence even my new daily cayman r had to be manual.
Makes you lazy and offers no enjoyment imo.
As that is the future there is plenty of time to go auto.
Not having to depress the clutch pedal makes you lazy? I loved the manual Spyder but I think the PDK actually offers more enjoyment and a sense of occasion - if you're pootling around I'd go for the manual but I definitely think you can make quicker progress in the PDK. Makes you lazy and offers no enjoyment imo.

I had a 981 PDK loaner for 3 days when the battery was being replaced on my old car and have another today as it happens. Even after 3 days with it I wasn't convinced. It takes a little time to feel at home with the PDK. Once you get it it's amazing!

...but PDK also feels totally relentless when you're going for it, because there's no pause in the power delivery.
Btw, I bought manual, because that's what I prefer, but I totally 'get' the PDK thing.
That's pretty much the way I feel - had the manual for 11 months and was uncertain how I'd get on with the PDK but it's seriously good! Btw, I bought manual, because that's what I prefer, but I totally 'get' the PDK thing.

MrDemon, I wouldn't blame your dissatisfaction of your M3 on its DCT box, my old E90 M3 was a manual and rather boring. It's a great daily driver but not a particularly fun car - before that I had two M3 CSL's which were SMG (CSL's were all paddle shift) and suited the character of the car perfectly. Undoubtedly the CSL was one of the most enjoyable and rewarding cars I've ever driven. I'd class the Spyder similarly and for me PDK even more so.
Also took me a lot more than 24 hours to come to that conclusion. I love the manual but I love the PDK on the Spyder just a little bit more
Edit ... car looks lovely Beaver. Only a minor thing but the "Spyder" badge looks much better.

Mines up for sale, though only tempted if the right offer comes in, as I've actually got around to driving it this weekend!!!
This didn't register the first time I read it! Why are you selling your beautifully spec'd CR? What do you have in mind - a Spyder for the summer? Good choice gunner said:
M33ufo...I'm considering a cal myself, but have been told that the smg 'box is awfully hard work by current/previous owners...especially vs the likes of PDF today...any thoughts?
The SMG on the E46 M3 (not CSL) isn't something I've tried but apparently isn't brilliant. Whilst the CSL has the same basic system it uses different software. It can be a little clunky at very low speeds because it's a little like an on/off switch - just takes a little getting used to. When you're giving it some beans it's phenomenal (make sure you select the quickest shift change - 5 or 6 should do it). The blip of the throttle on down changes and the huge induction roar make the car a real delight to drive and gives a huge grin factor. You can't go wrong with a CSL. The best M3 they ever made imo (can't comment on the GTS). You should try one.
