Apparently a tracker is standard fit for all Macans, part of Porsche Car Connect?

To activate the tracker or Porsche Car Connect costs nothing, and the first 6 months is free. After that, the subscription costs are:

6 months - £169.00
12 months - £269.00
24 months - £469.00

Blindly. Some people really do have money to burn!

Mate of mine was car shopping last week and went to look at the Macan. His current lease is up at the end of September so he's looking for something to replace at that time.

He said the Macan was a lovely thing. When he asked about availability, the dealer told him "If you put down a £5k deposit right now, we can deliver in two YEARS".

Matey has ordered a Q5….

2 years is the normal quote but it's a much better car than a q5. he should stick his deposit down for when the q5 lease ends. normal opc deposit is only £3k though.

£3k for two years, though. A fairly substantial interest free loan to an OPC would stick in my craw.

I think there are a lot of people who, like me, would simply walk away at that point no matter how good the car. Porsche should really have seen this coming.

Just thinking about spec - is the air suspension worth it or is the standard good also - would love to hear from someone who has driven a car with both smile

Am going with my sister to pick up her non PASM 18" wheel Diesel S on Saturday. I will hopefully get an idea of ride and handling (not that I will be driving).

Got PASM & 21' alloys. The ride on the Macan in normal mode is 'soft' & compliant. Some are ordering just steel, be interesting to know what it would be like. Not sure if air + PASM is really needed..

Have just driven one with no PASM / Air - feels absolutely fine to me - not quite like my GT3 , but for a 4*4 , feels really good - can't really see why you would want to chuck around a big heavy car like this - that type of driving style just doesn't lend itself to a car of this size and weight . Feels really comfy , compliant and planted - happy smile

A good write-up on Autocar today...

"The Macan in this test came with standard steel springs and optional PASM adaptive damping, PTV torque vectoring (with intelligent limited-slip differential) and the Sport Chrono pack.

Wider test experience suggests that, thus configured, the car is at the height of its dynamic powers – the best-handling 4x4 by a distance."

I was quoted 18 months with the possibility of that actually being 13 months. eek

Sadly, my current lease ends in 14 months so I can't take the risk of being carless for 4 months. A real shame becuase the Macan was the first car in ages that I've sat in, felt comfortable and decided it was right for me.

Tell me the SQ5 is just as good...

PASM With Air sus, moves it on to another level.....PTV is a waste...and so is the ltd slip diff, unless you are going to track it or enter drift competitions.......
